Hello everyone! Dr Corrie and Kaela are off to the pacific northwest veterinary conference. By doing this, we can stay up to date on the latest information in veterinary medicine to help better the lives and veterinary care of your pets. We will be closed from today until this upcoming Monday and will start seeing appointments again on Tuesday, October 1st. Dr Corrie and I will continue to check emails and such at least twice daily, but replies may be sporadic. Thank you for your understanding!

Spaying and Neutering is so important! Here is a helpful infographic to explain why. We often see a lot of misinformation and confusion about this topic and it is so important for your pet's health! Did you know if you spay a female pet BEFORE their first heat cycle, you take their chance of mammary cancers (and other hormonally based cancers) to almost 0%? Spaying also prevents pyometras (infected uterus). Please let us know if you have any questions!

Low-Income Vaccine Clinic time!
The Low-Income Vaccine Clinic is our way to reach out to the community by making sure pets from lower income homes stay vaccinated!
We will be doing the clinic out of our building in West Richland, and it is to be done as a drive through service. We ask everyone to stay in their cars and park in a line behind the building facing towards Enterprise Middle School. Due to the increase of interest in our Low-Income Vaccine Clinic, our average wait times are within 30-90 minutes. We thank everyone for their patience.
We will come out to each car and get your contact and pet information, then bring your pet into the building to confirm general health and administer their vaccines, then bring the pet and paperwork back to you. If your patient is new to us, please bring any relevant prior vaccine records with you.
To be eligible to be seen at the Low-Income Vaccine clinic:
- ALL dogs MUST be on a secure collar and leash. Please make sure to bring one with you if your dog is not already wearing it.
- ALL cats MUST be in a carrier or crate. If you do not have one available, you can PURCHASE a cardboard carrier for $7.70.
- ALL pets MUST be in good health. The Low-Income Vaccine Clinic is not designed to treat sick pets. If your pet is ill, please call our center at (509) 578-1729 to schedule an appointment.
Due to the fast pace of our Vaccine Clinic, we are unable to provide other services such as performing toe nail trims, prescribing medications or treating health issues including ear infections, dermatitis, or any other conditions.
The clinic will be at our full service building located at 4900 Paradise Way, Suite 100 in West Richland, WA. Again, please come and line up IN YOUR CAR behind the building so we keep the parking spaces in front of the building open for our other scheduled appointments. There will be signs behind the building to help.
The Low-Income Vaccine Clinic hours for February will be:
Friday, February 16th 9am-1pm
Saturday, February 17th 9am-1pm

Concern for Animals, a 43-year-old non-profit that focuses on improving people's and pets' welfare in our shared communities, is expanding into Grays Harbor County. They provide help towards low-income people, who tend to be the most vulnerable and marginalized in our community. This includes senior citizens, people with disabilities, veterans, immigrants, and people impacted by unemployment, domestic violence, and homelessness. They focus on empowering people to responsibly care for the pets they rely on for love, aid, comfort, and protection.
Their next monthly pop-up mobile pet food and supply bank will be held on Tuesday, January 23rd, where they will be hosting their pet food and supply bank at the Elma Senior Center from 12 PM to 12:30 PM and then at Beerbower Park in McCleary parking lot from 1pm - 1:3opm. Participants are encouraged to call our office and make an appointment so they bring enough food and supplies. Please call our office at 360-456-8176 to see if you qualify and make an appointment.
Their programs include:
-A weekly Pet Food & Supply Bank
-Vouchers for Veterinary Care, Grooming, and Vaccines
-Programs for Seniors, Individuals Experiencing Domestic Violence, Military Members & Students
-Improving the lives of pets and lowering the number of shelter-housed animals through spay/neuter initiatives
-Providing support for animal owners when the community is faced with natural disasters and ensuring the safety of animals and people in the community by actively providing information and education addressing community needs

Established clients should have received emails to inform you about the closure. We are booking out a ways in advance due to a high influx of patients and this closure.
