Cant get your pet snake to eat?

First check temperature and humidity and if they are where they should be the next question is does your snake feel safe? This means do you have a lot of hides and fake plants for clutter and coverage.

If the answer to that is yes and your snake seems to be acting normal it could just be a normal hunger strike that are normally done in winter or around breeding season.

If the snake isn't loosing weight just offer food like normal and don't worry to much. If the snake is loosing weight it would be best to see a vet as there's a multitude of problems that could cause this.

African house snakes are probably one of the most underrated species. This one is a Boaedon Fuliginosus.

Pros-

Very calm and not prone to biting.
Easy husbandry.
Stay small expecially the males.

Cons-

Can be difficult to get them eating depending on where they are brought from.
They are nocturnal so not great if you want a display animal.

Corn snakes know scientifically as Pantherophis guttatus are very common as pets and for good reason.

Pros-
Come in tons of colours.
Most are easy to handle as adults.
Quite active compared to other snakes.
Stay relatively small.

Cons-
As baby's they can be pretty defencive.
Males commonly stop eating during breeding season.
If your wanting a snake that stands out that most haven't heard of this isnt the species for you.

Over the next few days I'm going to do pros and cons for the species of snake I own.

Boa constrictors spesificly boa constrictor imperator overall are a great snake.

Pros-
Good eaters,
Do well with handleing,
Pretty calm and slow,
On the easier end of husbandry.

Cons-
Very food motivated so for safety should be hook trained,
Get to a decent size so need a big enclosure that most people don't have room for.
