Very proud to be part of such a fantastic team of hard working nurses

Check out our CVS Equine Nursing Team at their CPD away day in Banbury today – working hard to stay at the forefront of equine veterinary care. 🐴

Some fascinating sessions were held on; 'Equine nurse career pathways' by Tara Ryan Chief Veterinary Nursing Officer and Kelly Tillet Head RVN at Bell Equine Hospital - where our nurses learned about development opportunities within CVS; 'What it means to be a stud RVN' by Sam Crouch RVN from Bell Equine - where our nurses had insights into equine breeding and how nurses can undertake key procedures such as fresh semen insemination and uterine lavage; and, 'Empowering equine nurses' by Bonny Millar RVN - who has extensive experience in the USA and the UK and who currently works for Equicomms.

This knowledge will now be taken back and shared with our equine teams at our 21 equine practices throughout the country.

Well done all for investing this time to ensure we can continue to collaborate, develop and offer our clients and their horses the highest standards of care!

As we come to the end of Vet Nurse Awareness month, it's a time to reflect on what an excellent job we do! Whether your in practice, non clinical, SVN, or moved to a different field within practice, we all do a fantastic job.

I am very lucky to work with an incredible team of nurses at Equicomms who work tirelessly day and night, providing out of hours phone support to clinics. We are the listening ear to the client whose horse is colicing, the unwelcome alarm to the vet for the 4am call, the night watchmen for those vets out working late. We may not be in practice but we are a huge part of many clinics and a role I am proud to be a part of. So to all my team, keep up the great work and a heartfelt thank you! ☺️

As part of Vet Nurse Awareness month, I would like to take this opportunity to show a different side to veterinary nursing outside of clinical work.

I am very proud to work alongside 18 RVNs who work tirelessly to provide an out of hours service to nearly 70 clinics throughout UK. Although this is a non clinical remote role, all the hard work and training they have done over the years is used daily in providing first aid to clients, taking detailed referral information and having conversations with vets. This is a role that offers flexibility to work from home but still feel part of a valued veterinary team.

To all the fantastic team at Equicomms, thank you for your hard work. Keep up the hard work and flying the flag for non clinical nursing roles.

Equicomms has very sadly said good bye to one of our lovely call handlers. Philippa has been with Equicomms since established in 2020 and has been a huge part of the team. We all wish Philippa all the very best in her new adventure and would like to thank her very much for everything over the years.

As we head into mid January, the Equicomms team have enjoyed returning back to normal working routine. During December Equicomms answered 2421 emergency phone calls. This is a staggering amount for the time of year.

We are about to enter the busy lambing season (yep, we also answer calls for farm practices in the UK and NI) so the team are getting prepared for season to start!

We look forward to seeing many pictures of cute lambs during the next couple of months.

From everyone at Equicomms, we wish you all a very happy new year.
