This is hard to announce. We are very heartbroken. Tayri had an ultrasound done when she was 5 weeks pregnant. We definitely saw 3 babies, with the possibility of more. The vet's ultrasound machine is old and pictures are not real clear, but pregnancy was confirmed. When it was time for the pups to be born, Tayri began leaking a clear fluid for 2 days. Then at 10:00pm Thursday night, I saw emneotic fluid discoloration on the couch cover. We watched her all night, thinking a puppy would be born soon. At 8:00am Friday morning we called the vet. Mel took her to the vet's office immediately. An attempt to induce labor failed, so the vet did a c-section. What she found was 1 puppy that looked mostly mummified and a mass of tissue. The decision to take the uterus or just take the puppy and mass was a difficult one. The vet did not find any infection in the uterus. So she cleaned and washed both sides of the uterus and prescribed some heavy antibiotics, to prevent any type of infection. She could not give an answer to my question if Tay could have other litters. Tayri will need to be watched closely if we decide to try to breed her again.

Unfortunately, Lilly's AI did not take. So once again, we do not have any puppies to offer. We will attempt to breed Lilly next round and Tayri possibly in a year. I was told that breeding was an expensive project, they never said how much heartbreak there was going to be. Perhaps other people don't love their dogs like we do.

I am happy to announce Tayri is expecting puppies!! Due date is around 12-1-2023!!! Our vet's ultrasound machine is very old, but we did see 3 sacks and spines with the possibility of more. Unborn pups can hide behind each other in the ultrasound scan. It will be interesting how many there actually are, but we know there are at least 3!

I am happy to say that if you take time to deal with a problem and patience not to give up, there may be a solution to the problem! Today, I am happy to announce we have another stud stand in for Flash!!! His name is Fred and he has been busy this week! Because of an almost late introduction, I decided to get our vet involved. She did Artificial Insemination on Lilly on Sept. 21 + 22, 2023. Please keep your fingers crossed for a successful AI on Lilly. Then on Sept. 26th, Fred came over to meet Tayri, who had come into heat a several days before. They not only got friendly, but connected!!! Please keep your fingers crossed that the tie up was successful. But to make sure there is a good chance for a litter, Fred will come to visit again on Saturday.

It has been 2 years with no puppies, now I have hope. I will be posting photos of the dogs pairings. I will also be updating the web page, now that I'm energized again. Please check back for announcements on confirmed pregnancies and birth of puppies. I do not have a waiting list, I feel that is just another way to get money out of you. So please keep checking back for updates!!!

PUPPY UPDATE:
Once again I am broken-hearted. My new stud has problems that is not allowing the fathering of puppies. His testicles are unusually small and the vet can hardly detect a prostate. Flash is a sweet dog that is NOT bullheaded or hard to handle. He loves to cuddle and be with people. But to continue having pups, I need more time to get another stud. Please keep checking back for updates. I haven't given up yet!

I am introducing the new additions to our family. This is Rose and Lily. In these pics, they are only a week or so old. Once again, I chose to bring home sisters to add to the breeding line. These girls are from W&T Basset Hounds and Golden Retrievers in Alva Oklahoma. Their blood line includes a Champion from Ukraine.

UPDATE:
Beauregard has been spoken for. He will be going to a home with another Basset Hound, so he won't be lonely. Thank you for all your interest in him.

I have a hard time doing this, but I am looking to re-home Beauregard. He is 3 years old, house broken, loves to cuddle and very intelligent. He is healthy and up-to-date on his shots. He has been my stud for my breeding business, but has succeeded 3 out of 7 times. His legs are a little short to be a stud. There is a small re-homing fee, please pm me for info.
