Meet Nibbles!
From: “The Box of Wonders” Litter
This litter of adorable Terrier/Husky mixes earned their enchanting names because they truly are little wonders. Meet Bessie! 🤠
Bessie’s journey is one of hope and transformation. She and her sister (who is now happily adopted) were found starving and alone in an abandoned house. Thanks to our rescue partners in Bakersfield, Bessie is now safe, thriving, and ready to find her forever home. This little sweetheart has stolen our hearts with her gentle and affectionate nature. She gets along wonderfully with all the other dogs, from playful puppies to older companions. Bessie is easygoing, cuddly, and loves soaking up the sun on the lawn for a cozy winter nap. She’s also quite fond of her adorable little sweater, which makes her even more endearing. As Bessie is a pit mix, we will be very selective in finding her the perfect forever home. If you think you could be her match, we’d love to hear from you!

We have had so many adorable pups come through our rescue in December AND we got them adopted so quickly that we barely had time to even post them. 🙌🏻🙏🏻
Each pup featured here has gone to their forever homes and are loving every second of it!
At the start of December we had a total of 16 pups and by Christmas Eve we only had 1 pup left in our care! How amazing is that?

Hello Mission Bay Puppy Rescue family,
It is a hard and painful day at our rescue.
We took in a litter of five 17-day-old puppies who were rejected by their mother. We were told the she had 8 puppies, one passed early on and the other two were killed by the mother. We believe she did this because she knew her babies were not healthy and were not going to survive.
We decided to rescue them, despite the hard work it takes to care for such young pups without an able and willing mother. We bottle fed them every 2-4 hours (which can take up to 1.5 hours to do). We were with them 24/7 monitoring their condition and it became obvious that something was extremely wrong. We believe that these puppies have a fatal neurological condition. We kept them quarantined to ensure our other pups were protected. We consulted many industry professionals along with relying on our 30+ years of experience, as we so desperately were attempting to nurse them to health.
Last night, we noticed that their behavior and overall health took an extreme turn for the worse. After consulting multiple veterinarians advice, who are professionals in the field, we came to the conclusion that the best thing to do for these puppies would be to put them to sleep.
Our hearts morn this loss so greatly and I sit here grieving deeply over this outcome, but this is what had to be done to relieve their pain and suffering.
Our family has rescued over 3,000 dogs, cats and various other animals in pursuit to give them a better, safer and happier life. We however, are so grateful that this is an extremely rare outcome for us to result to.
We are sharing this video and information with you as we know that you celebrate with us when the pups and mamas that come into our care find their forever families. Throughout our time as Mission Bay Puppy Rescue you have all become apart of our family just as much as these pups all have. Your encouragement, love and support are what help up to rescue more pups and unit

New puppies!
Yesterday afternoon we got a call from the San Diego County Animal Control. They informed us that they had received five 10-week-old puppies and asked if we could rescue them!
We immediately jumped into action, prepared our home and went to the shelter this afternoon to pick them up!
Now in our care these puppies will receive all necessary medical attention + spay/neuter! These pups will very soon be available for adoption.
🚨 ALSO, the San Diego County Animal Control had recently rescued two more litters of very young puppies and have asked us to take them in as well. Our home is currently too full to take on two more litters, BUT we are working diligently to create space for at least one more litter and contacting fosters to take in the other litter. If you are interested in fostering please fill out a “Foster Application” and DM us on instagram. We would like to take these pups in as soon as possible!

CHUCKS DNA 🧬 RESULTS ARE IN!
He is… drum roll please 🥁…
100% Amarican Bully
What is an Amarican Bully?
According to The American Bully Kennel Club, it is a companion breed exhibiting confidence, a zest for life, along with an exuberant willingness to please and bond with their family, thus making the American Bully an excellent family companion. Despite the American Bully’s fierce and powerful appearance their demeanor is gentle. They are great with kids, and extremely friendly with strangers, other dogs, and other animals. Human or dog aggression, extreme shyness, or viciousness is very uncharacteristic of the American Bully.

Our baby Wobbles has been clearly living the life with his amazing foster!! Everybody needs some puppy to love..
We love puppies and we love matching them to their new forever homes. Over the last 25 years we have had the joy of assisting rescue organization of matching pups with wonderful new families. The best part is that many of these families have become life long friends.
While it had been some time since we fostered puppies, when Covid 19 hit we knew that many rescues would be struggling to get their puppies and dogS adopted. Shelters and rescues were over run with dogs and pups. So we dusted off our puppies toys and fluffed the doggie beds and rolled up our sleeves and got to work. We even gave ourselves a new name.
After researching rescue organizations to partner with, we offered our help to Pups’N Boots, a small non-profit 501(c)(3) rescue organization. Their mission is to rescue mothers, their litters, and motherless litters from unsafe conditions.
Following a very rigorous process all our pups, moms and strays first visit the vet where they are tested for Parvo, Distemper, Coccidia and Giardiasis as well as tick born illnesses. The pups are also checked for flees, ticks and other skin conditions. Each dog is given a medicated bath, flee treatment and based on the age at time of rescue we begin their vaccination series and they begin a diet of a nutrient rich puppy food. If medication is required we begin that protocol through adoption and if needed provide the current medical treatments to the new adopting families to continue.
During Covid many vets were burdened to perform only emergency medical care, making our usual process of spaying and neutering the pups nearly impossible in Mexico and challenging in the States. During that time we offered a “voucher” that was reimbursed to the vet or the owner when they had completed their sterilization (before week 20). Covid 19 was and continues to be a trying time for all pet rescues, but we are committed to finding each pup their perfect forever home.
As restrictions are lifting we are now able to resume the spay/neuter program. Our pups and their mamas are spayed/neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinationand are ready to become someones best friends.
When considering adopting from Mission Bay Puppy Rescue and Pups N Boots we wish to express to your our philosophy of pricing. We believe that all life has value! And while many may be looking to adopt a puppy for a “low price”, we believe that when an adopter is willing and able to “invest” into their pup that this is not a “whim purchase”, based on emotions (because face it puppies are so cute, and who can say no to them in that moment when they were not even looking to get a puppy) instead we want this to be a very serious, committed decision and when something costs a little bit more, you usually take better care of it.
We want everyone one (who is qualified) to have a forever dog to love, but some times we have to decline your application. Please understand it is not just for the welfare of our puppies but also that of you, the adopter. We want you to have the best experience and will do our best to work with you if possible to adopt a dog. There will be times when our suggestions will be to look for an older dog vs a puppy, or to wait till your circumstances are more fitting to bring a dog into your life. Our goal is to find all dogs a safe, happily forever home.
We are glad to answer any questions you may have, please feel free to message us and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.
How do you adopt a dog? Fill out our application found on this page or on our website, be a little patient I promise to contact every-person for an interview.
Upon approval you have two options:
1. To “watch” our pages for the newest litters coming or
2. To place a non-refundable deposit (good for 6 months) on a specific litter, dog or on our general wait list. The deposits are non-refundable and good for 6 months, so if you don't fall in love with the first pup you meet, we are pretty sure it won’t be long till you will find the “perfect” one. If during that time you adopt from another rescue or change your mind you deposit will go to our emergency vet fund and/or to our spay/neuter clinics we offer in Baja twice a year. Either way you will be doing something very special for very sweet pups and their mamas.
