I am a veterinarian from Wisconsin, and my work with animals has taken me to such places as the mountains of Ecuador and the deserts of China. The inspiration for this shop actually came from my recent wedding to my husband, also a veterinarian. We had a Science and Travel theme with a late 1800's flare. To help tie it together, I drew the original 19 science diagrams and journal entries that first served as reception table center pieces, and later became the foundation for this store. In my artwork I hope to capture the adventure and beauty of science, especially as it relates to the animal world. I love the medium of pen and ink for its crisp lines and potential for detail- the texture of lizard scales, the pattern on a songbird feather. The scientific facts on my diagrams are correct, to the best of my knowledge, though journal entry drawings may contain elements of fiction in the prose ;)
