I just heard a statistic on the radio and had to look it up. $700 million on pet Halloween costumes this year according to the National Retail Federation.

I love Halloween (especially cute dogs dressed up!) but want to bring awareness to the impact on the planet. If you bought a costume it’s made of polyester and decorated with other synthetic pieces. It will be on the 🌎 for hundreds or even thousands of years (in some form of micro plastic) Next year, reuse your costume, trade with friends or sell it to make sure it doesn’t end up in landfills and the ocean

My inspiration, my muse: Poppy popping out from under the Seawoof booth. When we got her in February 2020, she arrived wearing a tiny pink neckerchief.
♻️In 2019, I toured a carpet recycling plant and was inspired by the way they could make new yarns out of the old carpets and nylon waste including fishing nets and textiles. As a textile designer always looking to innovate, I saw the possibility of creating a line of dog collars and leashes out of recycled nylon. I started researching the materials and sampling products during Covid, and launched Seawoof in 2022. First day with the new Snuffle Fish Dog Toys! Made from canvas scraps and filled with real 🐑wool from . When dogs chew toys filled with polyester stuffing, they can ingest micro plastics! Wool is compostable, nontoxic and 🌏 friendly
