I've been working on a new digitally hand-painted print to add to my product selection for people who prefer a more painted look. The backgrounds are painted from scratch inspired by the colors of the original photograph or based on your decor then your dog's photo from their session is added, painted, and blended with the background. I have had such a great time creating these pieces.

The Tails of the World fundraising book project deadline was extended to June 9th. Let's help dogs in need through Street Savvy Dog Rescue and show off all that Portland has to offer for dogs.
Your dog's photo will be featured in an international book that celebrates dogs, the cities they loves, the things they love to do all while helping dogs in need.

So excited to announce that I will be representing Portland for the Tails of the World, The Book fundraising project. This year our donations will go to Street Savvy Dog Rescue.
Street Savvy Dog Rescue is an all-breed, no-kill rescue focused on providing compassionate and kind rehabilitation for dogs in need of a loving home. Our mission is to rescue abandoned dogs from high-kill shelters in under-served communities and relocate them to adoptive homes in the Pacific Northwest.

Clients always ask why I love to photograph at sunrise and sunset. Well, this image that I just delivered says it all. We were doing an evening session and were slowly making our way back to the car when I turned and saw this gorgeous light breaking through. So we stopped and got about 8 different shots before the light disappeared. Homer's mom ordered this one as a large framed and matted print and it is beautiful.

Chances are, I am the person you see at the party most likely to be talking to the dog. And while it may take me a couple of times to remember an owner's name, I learn the dog's name really fast. When I see people on the street, I likely will say hello to their dog first. During my time as a professional landscape photographer, I learned that the art of creating stunning and vibrant images of the world around me was truly my zen place. Simply put, dogs and nature are the things that bring me the most joy. For that reason, I work to capture them in bright and colorful images. I decided to combine my love of dogs, photography and nature to create one amazing career.

Our dogs are only with us for such a short time and often we realize too late that we don't have any great photos of them. I know I regret not having photos of the dogs that I grew up with. I have my fond memories of them, but no photo to look at and really remember what they looked like. I want to help other people not experience that regret when the time comes. And I know you are thinking, but I have lots of photos on my phone. However nothing compares to a portrait of your best friend hanging on your wall or an album of memories from a great destination photo shoot.
