This is the majestic Simba. Simba's family chose Pittock Mansion for the session.

Simba's mom shared this about her beautiful girl.

1.) Simba is very loving and affectionate towards humans. We brought him into our family after one of our family members was recovering from a severe depressive episode. It was risky, as puppies can be a lot of work, but we quickly saw that Simba’s presence lighted up our household. We have never looked back since.
2.) Simba loves to go on adventures in around different parks in the area. He is definitely an explorer.
3.) Simba is very food motivated and loves to try new types of treats constantly, though we try hard to keep him to a healthy routine

Benny had his session in Slabtown. I chose this location for him because our family spent 9 years living in this area and it will always have a piece of our heart.
Benny's dad, my husband wrote his fun facts. This is what he had to say.
-- Benny insists on attending daily work meetings with Daddy, where he often tries to voice his opinion when Daddy is talking, despite the best attempts of Microsoft Teams to stop him.
-- Benny dislikes voices and sounds coming from small speakers and cell phones. He will try to turn the devices off by hitting them with his paws
-- We're convinced Benny may be part cat, as he spends an inordinate amount of time walking along the back of the couch and the window sill behind it, where he often plants himself to stare out into the backyard at the neighbors through the fence.
-- Benny loves to learn and do tricks, frequently offering up everything in his repertoire, in rapid succession, if a treat is not offered quickly enough to his satisfaction.

Sorry for being off social media for a while. I have been working on finishing up the Tails of the World 2024 book project and delivering the photos to the generous clients who participated in the fundraiser this year which benefitted Street Savvy Dog Rescue. As the Portland representative, I tried to capture as many iconic locations as I could.

I thought I would share some of the photos from the sessions that were not submitted for the book. I can only send two per session so not everything from the session made it in the book.

This is Bella. She is a gorgeous Chow-pomsky with the sweetest personality. She had her session at Tom McCall Waterfront Park.

This is the last day to enter! Day 5 of our Dog Mom's Day Celebration Today's story prompt is: What do you love most about your dog and why? Remember you don't have to follow the prompt. You can tell me any story about you and your pup and share any photo. It is about celebrating the bond you share. Lucas' story: My favorite thing about Lucas is when I wake up in the morning and pull my eye mask off, he walks up to me and gives me the most gentle little kiss on the lips and cuddles with me. It is our time together, just the two of us. Normally he is a bundle of energy and gives what we call attack kisses that are quick and sloppy and sometimes he is so quick that he catches your nose with the edge of his teeth. But that sweet little kiss is just for me. Since I am not going to show you a photo of me waking up, here is my second favorite thing, his wiggly butt because it makes me smile.

Chances are, I am the person you see at the party most likely to be talking to the dog. And while it may take me a couple of times to remember an owner's name, I learn the dog's name really fast. When I see people on the street, I likely will say hello to their dog first. During my time as a professional landscape photographer, I learned that the art of creating stunning and vibrant images of the world around me was truly my zen place. Simply put, dogs and nature are the things that bring me the most joy. For that reason, I work to capture them in bright and colorful images. I decided to combine my love of dogs, photography and nature to create one amazing career.

Our dogs are only with us for such a short time and often we realize too late that we don't have any great photos of them. I know I regret not having photos of the dogs that I grew up with. I have my fond memories of them, but no photo to look at and really remember what they looked like. I want to help other people not experience that regret when the time comes. And I know you are thinking, but I have lots of photos on my phone. However nothing compares to a portrait of your best friend hanging on your wall or an album of memories from a great destination photo shoot.
