Today, I received a copy of a new book called THE LITTLE BOOK OF EXTRAORDINARY CATS, written by Anita Kelsey. It's full of wonderful tales featuring felines who overcame tremendous hardships to become symbols of inspiration. I was honored when Anita contacted me, wanting to include Sinbad's story. Reading his entry was a real trip down memory lane, one that stirred a lot of emotion in me.

If you're a cat lover, this book is for you! It's also for any animal lover who could use a little bit of sunshine in their lives... like Sinbad was for all of us.

Thank you to everyone who has been posting the wonderful comments about Hobbes and Mr. Kelly! It's been nice having a cat around the house again.

The time has come again for the annual Sinbad Memorial Fundraiser! Every year I reach out to all of you, Sinbad's friends, and ask for your support. Again, the fundraiser will benefit The Anti-Cruelty Society, the good folks who rescued our baby boy and brought him into our lives. Last year we raised $2,500 and I hope we can match that again this year!

Feel free to set your own donation amount, as every little bit, no matter how small, helps. (I always say that if every one of Sinbad's Facebook followers gave just $1 we'd raise over 10K each year!)

Today, I did an interview with LeeAnn Trotter of NBC 5 Chicago to talk about Sinbad, how I coped with the grief that came with his death, and why pet-loss support groups are so important.

I had to admit that I'm still not over losing him, as he was such an enormous presence in my life. I hope that sharing my perspective helps others in some small way.
