We thought Cooper found his forever home, but it ended up not being a great match with their existing dog, and now he's coming back. But the foster who had Cooper now has a different foster dog. Ideally we'd find a forever home for him, but in the short term please consider fostering Cooper. If we can't find a foster home we're going to have no choice but to kennel him, and that would be so detrimental to a shy dog like Cooper. If you can't foster, please share.

Gorgeous Eggo is still available!

We need your help sharing and finding a forever home for Eggo. When her foster took Eggo in, it was on what we thought was only going to be a short-term basis, as Eggo had an approved application and we just needed to get her temporarily into a cat-free foster home. But that adoption has since fallen through. Eggo's foster recently started a new overnight job, and has a non-dog-friendly dog who needs to be kept separate from Eggo, and the foster lives almost an hour from the general area where our adoption events take place. We're hoping to find Eggo's forever home, but at a minimum need a new foster home for her.

Eggo is a GREAT dog! I know we say this about a lot of dogs, but we can't believe she hasn't been snatched up yet. She is obviously gorgeous, and is super dog & people-friendly; her only negative is that she can't be with cats. Eggo is about 7 months old, spayed, and a great size at 40lbs.

Back in May, a volunteer with our rescue partner in AL came home to find 4 puppies had been dumped on her doorstep. Those puppies were nicknamed "The Doorstep Litter". Adoptions in that rural area of AL are very few & far between, and all 4 of those dogs have been waiting since May to be adopted, growing from puppies to almost-adults waiting for someone to pick them. But thanks to a foster of ours stepping up, one of them (Laci) is finally moving on to the next phase of her life and will be joining Salfid Rescue this weekend.

Can you spare $5 towards her freedom ride? Our goal is $150 and every single donation helps.

We are pulling TWELVE dogs this weekend, which is a huge upfront expense for the rescue. We do eventually recoup a portion of that through adoption fees, but dogs generally aren't adopted for at least 2 weeks after we pull them, and it only takes one sick or injured dog to put us hundreds or a thousand+ dollars in the hole, completely wiping-out several dogs' adoption fees. Bottom line is that the rescue could not exist without donations. Every single donation helps.

Mama Rudi was found starving in a home with 2 other dogs after their owner had passed away a week earlier. She was so thin, the shelter had no idea at the time she was pregnant, and a couple weeks later Rudi gave birth to 9 puppies. We're still trying to find a foster for Rudi, but thanks to fosters stepping up for them, 6 of Rudi's puppies are joining Salfid Rescue this weekend and will never have to endure anything like their mom went through.

He's only about 4 months old, but Piglet is at risk of euthanasia at a severely overcrowded shelter.

Dodger is scheduled to be euthanized on Mon 12/9 due to length of stay at the shelter.

He is 8 months old, neutered, and HW neg.

Our shelter partner has this to say:
"Dodger came in almost 3 months ago weighing only 25 lbs. As of today he is a healthy 55 lbs. He is an absolutely wonderful dog!!! He is great with other dogs and loves people. We’re all rooting for him to finally get out!!"

Bully mixes, currently approx 8 weeks old, so about 10 weeks on arrival. They'd preferably go to foster homes in pairs. Fostering young puppies in pairs is often actually easier because they play together & keep each other occupied and are comfort & company for each other.
