Summer is creeping up on us, and it will be here soon! That means it's the time of the year where I like to do a PSA about these horrible little plants (foxtails)
Foxtails grow like weeds, and when the seeds mature and dry, they basically stick to everything. Your pants, your dogs for, etc. The real issue with them is that they end up growing a really sharp tip, and the entire seed is barbed. So if your dog gets one stuck between their toes, in their ear, and their nose, the foxtails tend to get stuck and work their way in. This can cause your dog all sorts of issues, from discomfort, all the way to infections or worse.
So if you see it feel the foxtails, especially dry ones, I recommend avoiding the area if possible, and if not be sure to give your dog a very good check over once you're done with your outing
