Big things have been happening here! Or maybe I should say, little things? 🤭

We have named our mini Sunny because he makes everyone’s day brighter. ☀️ He and Biscuit finally got to be in the same pasture after Sunny’s quarantine! Biscuit is loving having a little buddy by his side. I’ve only seen them really playing together once and it was one of the cold mornings last week but of course I didn’t have my phone. Sunny was also gelded a few weeks back and did great! It was another “first” for me and I enjoyed learning. He healed up nicely over the next couple of weeks and is doing great. I’m loving my “front yard” ponies!

The next order of business is getting Cheyenne’s pasture fenced so she can be next to the littles again. She has always been an outcast with the bigs and she has her usual nervous energy again. It was amazing how much more calm she was when she was with Biscuit.

After that, we hope to finally start on our arena. We have an awesome spot but it needs quite a bit of work before we can really utilize it. With only one person (my husband Isaac) working on those bigger projects, they always take quite a bit of time but I’m looking forward to having a safe space to ride.

That’s all for now! Thank you all for your continued support and love.

Our Venmo link is below if you feel led to help support our endeavor. We will never be able to grow without help, especially with how prices have skyrocketed. All donations are tax deductible; our EIN is 88-1919392. ❤️

‼️I realize this is a big ask and may seem ridiculous but you miss every shot you don’t take so here I am.

We need a horse trailer. We have rented the ones we’ve used or had to pay for someone else to haul a horse here. Not only do we need one for emergencies, we need one to be able to accomplish the goals I have for our rescue. We don’t receive consistent help and horses are expensive yall. The most expensive are two of our rescues - Lily and Cheyenne. Anywho, moving on because we all know how expensive life in general is these days. My ask is this - if you or someone you know has an old, small bumper pull stock or horse trailer sitting around rotting they’d be willing to donate or let go of for super super cheap, please let me know. It can need some basic cosmetic work or tires but we just need something to start with. All donations are tax deductible so the value of the trailer could be used for that. Or, if it’s something someone needs a little money for, the discount from the value could be used.

As painful as it has been to see the devastation in our beloved mountains, it has been incredible to see how our community has responded. It seems like everyone wants to help in some way.

I’m grateful to have friends in my circle with hearts aching to help in whatever way possible. When I ask myself, how can I help? What resources do I currently have that could be useful? Pasture space… that’s what I have to offer, so that’s what I am offering. My good friend’s husband sells fantastic quality horse hay that he brings down here from up north. With a desire to help like so many others, he knows his resource to offer is hay. He is on his way over to the mountains now to drop off his first load. We decided to partner together to have a bigger audience and to give folks the ability to make tax-deductible donations towards the cost of the hay and delivery. Facebook’s fundraising is awesome but the payment from the fundraiser doesn’t come immediately. It can take up to 3 months. Neither of us have the financial resources to wait for that long. If you are interested in donating, I have pasted my PayPal and Venmo links in the comments below. Please notate in your donation “storm relief hay” so that I can make sure those monies stay separate.

Also, in order to receive displaced horses there are some projects we would need to complete here first. We need to bush hog (and bale if possible) our pastures because unfortunately, they’re full of foxtail. We also need temporary fencing supplies - solar panel, step-in T-posts, electric poly rope, and gates or supplies to make electric fence gates. If you’d like to donate to this project, please notate “pasture preparation” when you make a donation.

Thank you all who have supported us so far! 🙏🏻

If you or someone you know needs a place for displaced horses to stay, we have pasture space that could be temp-fenced if needed.

I am devastated by the damage Helene has done to our beautiful state and surrounding areas. I can’t even imagine what it must feel like to be displaced or helpless and stranded. My heart is breaking seeing all of the pictures and videos. I am praying for everyone impacted!

I took one look at this little face and fell in love.

One of my goals is to have a mini that I can have trained as a therapy horse (assuming his personality is right) that I can take to nursing homes, schools, etc. I’m not exactly sure of the steps I’ll need to take to get there but I know God placed this desire on my heart a long time ago so I’m working toward that dream. This is Otho (to be renamed) and he’s currently at the kill pen that we saved our other three rescues from. I’m hoping he can be the face of TPES and help bring in funds by attending birthday parties, photo shoots, and the like. I’ve put down a deposit on him but still owe $225. If you feel led, we would be grateful for any donation, no matter how small. If donations exceed my balance, those will be used to prepare his quarantine space, purchase items I’ll need toward his care, and help pay for his veterinary care. He is still a stud and will need to be gelded. I’ve also been told he is breathing a little heavy and needs to get home asap. You can donate directly to TPES by clicking the “Donate” button below. I also have Venmo and PayPal. 🫶🏼

Summer is quickly approaching! Do you or someone you know need volunteer hours or interested in helping?? We always have a ton of projects happening around the farm as well as regular maintenance. We have volunteer opportunities from picking up rocks and sticks to building run-ins, paddocks, an arena, and everything in between. The horses can be brushed, bathed, or worked with for those with the experience and comfort level needed. There’s something for everyone and we would be so grateful for any help - no matter how big or small. Please message us if you’re interested! Please share!

This!!! 💯 Take care of the animals who have given so much of themselves to you. I am honored to have the opportunity to care for our rescues who were discarded after no longer being to serve how they once had.

Some love horseback riding, and some love horses. Some love both. However, if you had to choose between caring for the horse that can't be ridden any longer, or selling the horse for a younger model so you can ride, which would you choose?
Which do you think your horse hopes you choose?
Which do you think is more ethical?
A lot of people sell horses that they 'outgrow' etc and maybe the next owner is kind, and maybe even the owner after that. The PROBLEM is that the horse loses it's own continuity with equine friends, a sense of connection to land and home; it's family. ALSO the more this flipping happens, the less any one owner feels beholden to the idea of senior care. And senior care is needed by EVERY LIVING BEING. Normalizing the act of 'getting rid of' an animal because it no longer serves tells the next generation that it's ok, and the cycle continues. This is how old horses end up at auction, alone and undefended, equines that were once well trained and trusted to carry children, or accomplished athletes, or hard working partners in the field or on the road. No one stood by them in their hour of need.
It just seems that our species is capable of better treatment to another living being that 'we' have created and used. Every horse deserves a decent end to a life they did not choose, but may have tried their best at anyway, for as long as possible.
We step in for a few as we are able, but handing them over to a rescue ought not to be normalized either. There is not federal, state or local revenue supporting these efforts, each is headed by a slightly crazy horse person who saw a need and stepped up.
Our opinions are not secret, we live them every day. Sadly if more agreed with us, we would not need to be here.
Wouldn't it be great to normalize connection, value beyond just a skill, loyalty, and the beauty of caring for one who relies upon you? Because there is great beauty, and meaning, in standing beside another living being, one that you chose to bring into your life, and protect them for the rest of theirs.

Going into the New Year in style thanks to Tread Deep Counseling PLLC! A few weeks ago I had posted an “iso” post on Facebook for a gently used, very large draft blanket. Lily had a blanket but it wasn’t for a draft and was a tad too small as well. When Victoria saw the post, she reached out to me and asked if she could buy Lily a new blanket. 😭 What a Godsend! I cried with relief and thanksgiving.

We are so grateful for all of the support we have received. All of the encouragement, “likes”, donations, and volunteer time has kept us going. We are excited for 2024 and we wish you all a very happy New Year! May 2024 bring you joy, peace, and love. ♥️

State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo said, "Today, as we celebrate National Horse Day, it's an opportunity to reflect on the significant economic, historic, and cultural impact that horses have had on our society. In honor of this special day, I am thankful that Governor Hochul will be signing my two bills aimed at safeguarding these magnificent animals from cruelty. The first bill, S.1677A, enhances the penalties with appropriate fines for the sale of disabled horses at auctions and extends these protections to mules and donkeys. The second bill, S.2163B, prohibits the slaughter of horses for both human and animal consumption. These animals, acknowledged for their contributions towards labor, agriculture, recreation, transportation, and various other purposes, deserve to be treated with the utmost care, and I join Governor Hochul in addressing the need for equine protections and the importance of this cause, which includes the end of horse slaughter and the prevention of animal cruelty."

Here are some photos of the special ponies that we’ve been privileged to know over the years. I’m so grateful for these precious souls and especially for the ones we get to call ours. ♥️
