This lovely warmblood yearling is heading home after 60 days of training. So rewarding to watch them grow with confidence, but always sad to see them go. The future is bright for this fancy boy.
Valeska really working the smile for this delicious Christmas treat. Thank you to The Faire Equestrian for the yummy cookies Equine Confections 🍪🎄😁 Katie Malensek
Almost ready to trade in his unicorn stuffy for a real rider. Katie Malensek 🦄
Starting young horses doesn’t need to be full of bucking or bolting. It is amazing what patience, clear communication, and some positive reinforcement can accomplish in just a few short sessions. Here is a 3 year old ISH wearing a saddle for the first time like a rockstar after arriving to his owner from Ireland only one week ago 🤩 I love giving young horses the tools they need to feel confident and relaxed while learning to accept new things. Building a solid foundation for a promising future for this lovely sport horse. 🐎
So much to be inspired and motivated by in this amazing freestyle by Luke Gingerich Horsemanship. 🐴 ❤️👏
All the ponies are tagged and ready for hurricane Ian to roll in. 🤞 we don’t need them, but I prefer to be safe than sorry!
It was only a matter of time before I couldn’t resist the urge to teach little Royal how to lie down. Smart old man figured it out in only one liberty session. 🍪 👏🦄💕
On an adventure at CZ Mustangs liberty clinic with Eleanor today 🦄 ❤️
Carter was so happy joining the rest of the herd this week 🐎 It always brings a smile to my face when a mustang is ready to move out of their pen. 🥰 Watching the herd dynamics shift is so interesting and to no surprise, Carter has quickly become the leader.
Say cheese!!! 📸 Carter has mastered the smile 😃
Carter’s trail class from the Alabama TIP Challenge 🐴 ❤️
More photos and videos to come but so proud of Carter finishing 1st in the Adult TIP Challenge as well as 1st in the Novice In Hand division. 🏆 This mustang has not been an easy one but he sure has come a long way in the 90 last days 🥰
Great first day of competing at the Alabama TIP Challenge with Carter. He is currently leading the Adult TIP division and the Novice In Hand division of the open show after showmanship and trail classes. ❤️
Carter has arrived and settled in at the Alabama TIP Challenge. What a handsome dude 😍
One of Carter’s favorite things to do is the teeter totter, likely because it doesn’t require being touched by the human 🤣 Proud of this brave-ish boy! ❤️
One of my favourite things to teach is ‘sideways towards’ and Carter thinks it’s pretty fun too! This little mustang is so smart ❤️
Carter has been working on some new skills. I was very impressed with how quickly he was able to understand that I was asking for all 4 feet on the narrow side of the bridge. 🎉
Carter seems to enjoy the new obstacle. Next will be the smaller pedestal and soon turning this bridge into a teeter totter. ❤️
Yesterday our 2nd progress reports were due for the Alabama TIP Challenge. The top photo is from the 1st report at Week 2 (Feb 1st) and the bottom photo is the 2nd report which marks week 6 (March 1st). 😍
Carter’s doing so well with leading and playing around with some obstacles. I love how confident he is becoming ❤️
Carter is looking a little more domesticated these days. 😍 He has been leading well, working on handling his legs and picking up his feet so he can have a much needed trim soon, and was a really good boy for his deworming. Can’t wait to see his final transformation for the challenge!
Vinny has joined the rest of our little herd in their field and he is already teaching the domesticated horses about cooling off in the pond 🤦🏻♀️🤣
It has already been 3 weeks since I picked up this beautiful mustang. 🥰 Vinny was working on some confidence building outside of the round pen today 🎉 This boy is just about ready to join the rest of the herd in the big boy field ❤️
There’s going to be a shiney new mustang under all of that hair! Carter’s going to feel like a new man. 😍
It took a little while to get to this point but happy to share that on Day 16 Carter is confidently wearing a halter 🎉
Big morning for Tag #0738, now known as Carter 🥰 He is very sweet but also very timid and has taken a little extra time to gain his trust. I am really excited to keep building his confidence and see what we can accomplish together over the next few weeks. 🐴 ❤️
Vinny making progress with wearing a halter and he has also started leading around the pen. We even ventured out of his pen today, which was a little more exciting than I hoped for, but it gives us some homework to work on with building his confidence. His sweet little bay friend is trying to be brave too, but still needs some time to get used to us strange humans. Overall really happy with only being Day 6 👍🐴❤️
Today we made some big steps with learning about the halter. I would normally do a name reveal when I remove the neck tag but unfortunately #0266 lost his tag in the holding pens. So instead I will use this haltering progress as the right time to introduce everyone to Vinny, no longer known as just a number. ♥️🤩
Slow and steady day with the mustangs, building their trust and helping them learn that humans aren’t so bad! Even little Royal wanted in on the hand feeding from his favourite little human. 🥰
Day 2 has started with a low key morning with the boys, coffee for me and hay cubes for the ponies. They are getting more comfortable in my company and even had a few hand touches during our hang out ☕️♥️
Welcome to our new mustangs tag #0738 and #0266. Assistant trainer Anthony is looking forward to helping gentle these sweet geldings.
