One banana a day keeps the doctor away! If there’s something that all of our parrots loves, it’s a banana! Some of the smart birds, like our African Grey parrot Dino, ask for it in a human language 🤣

This is Blue, a 3-year-old and super young Military Macaw. Blue has been with us for a week and will be rehomed over time. For now, we are honored to be working with him. What a fantastic and beautiful Macaw. There are certainly differences from our own Military Macaw, Kaya, but also similarities. We have trained multiple Military Macaws, and some common behaviors we’ve observed include:

1. Hanging upside down a lot.
2. Nodding their heads when interested or curious.
3. Displaying possessive behavior.
4. Independent tendencies.
5. Being cautious, but curiosity conquers all.
6. A lot of strength in their beaks. Such a small Macaw can effortlessly crack a macadamia nut.
7. Affectionate but also independent.

We love Military Macaws, and if we had the space, we would have taken him in ourselves. For now, we get to enjoy his company, and he’s already accustomed to my camera. Check out our story for training videos!

Our African Grey babies are now 13 weeks old. They are fully grown and doing excellently. In addition to eating independently, they also fly on command.

Soon, they will go to their new owners. It’s very sad for us, but fortunately, they will be in good hands.

Charlie Spring has come so we finally started our walkies I wanted to take them outside together but I’m scared they’d start to fight and I won’t be able to stop it if im by myself so I’ll do it when my sister comes with me! As some of you might know Charlie doesn’t like wearing the harness but as soon as he’s outside under the sun he becomes so curious and starts saying “ciao” to everything and everyone forgetting he has the terrific-maléficié harness on ❤️ he hasn’t been outside last year so I was worried but it went okay! 😊

Pino my special boy. It feels so special to think back to where we started and where we are now. We both needed time to get used to each other but now he really is MY BIRD 💜 when I’m downstairs he is always on my shoulder. While I’m vacuum cleaning, while I’m doing the dishes, while I’m preparing breakfast, while I’m dancing …. Which I couldn’t imagine when I just got him! He doesn’t scream, he doesn’t destroy my house, and he doesn’t seem to want to my life more difficult (*ugh* Yoshi and Winnie……) He’s just the best and calmest bird to come home to, and I’m so happy I decided to give him a second home with me. I also loooooove my little conures of course, but man oh msn. Green cheek conures are something else 😆
