Starting this new journey has come with so many emotions and experiences. Not only for me, but for those who are along on this journey with me. To get the opportunity to teach, and to open up my world to someone else has been one of the most rewarding things to happen so far. And to see someone enjoy my horse like I did so many years ago is a feeling I can't put into words. Your journey is your own, but those who decide to travel it with you are the ones that will always hold a special place in my heart.

“Work in silence and let your success be the noise.” Is something ive learned in the past few years. The more you talk about what your doing or your plans for the future the more people try to bring you down or try to ruin your reputation. I find it not just common in the world of horses, but in everything. No matter what, keep pushing forward. These people only want to see you fall, and the more you talk, the more they are fed.

Heres a little update on Whimsy

He has come a long way. This horse has a past none of us know, and its obvious it had been rough. Hes always ten steps ahead, and worried about whats coming next. I can say im pretty proud of him and how far hes come. What used to be a bolt transition with his head up high has now turned into a pretty nice collected trot. We have alot more to work through, but this has been a huge step in the right direction.

Many challenges were thrown at me these past few weeks, from cruise jumping the round pen pannels and slicing his leg open to just dealing with things happening around the ranch. but I'm proud to say I was able to face each and every one with confidence and motivation to take them on. Life is never easy. There will always be challenges. It is up to us to learn and grow from them and to keep pushing forward.

Start riding with a purpose. Once you ride with a purpose you ride less stiff and more relaxed. Don’t pick on every little thing your horse does. Try to fix one problem each ride not all at once.

Me and Gambler were 3rd in the jackpot yesterday. He hasnt run at a barrel race in over a year so i would say it was pretty successful!
