It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of Tilly’s passing. Tilly joined the DDS pack in July 2023, bringing with her a spirit and gentleness that touched everyone she met. Her journey with us is a testament to the power of love and community, which is at the very heart of our mission.
Tilly was welcomed into the home of Karen and Tony, who initially opened their hearts to foster her. But as often happens with these gentle giants, Tilly quickly became more than just a temporary guest; she became family. Karen and Tony’s decision to officially adopt Tilly was a beautiful example of what we call a “foster fail,” but it was, in truth, a resounding success in love and compassion.
Around six weeks ago, Tilly began showing serious and unexplained symptoms. Despite every effort, her family and veterinarians were unable to determine the exact cause. Throughout this difficult time, I have remained in contact with Tilly’s family, offering guidance and support hoping we could find the right doctor to help.
My personal connection with Tilly runs deep, as I had the privilege of spending a full two weeks in board and train with her before she joined DDS. She was truly the sweetest girl, and her loss is felt profoundly by all who knew her.
In these moments of loss, we are reminded of the profound impact these gentle giants have on our lives and the importance of our mission at Daisy’s Dane Sanctuary. We are a community committed to love, support, and the well-being of our Great Danes.
As we remember Tilly today, let us honor her memory by continuing our work with the same compassion and dedication that she inspired in all of us. Thank you for your unwavering support and for being a part of this incredible community.

Hi there, it’s me Quinn. 🐾 I’m a 3-year-old Great Dane who longs for a home to call my own. My journey has been a mix of joy and heartache. I came to DDS when I was about to become a mother, and for a while, I felt like a queen. The humans here were kind, showering me with love and gifts, and I even welcomed ten beautiful puppies into the world on September 7th.
Watching them grow and find their own families filled my heart with pride, but now that they’ve all moved on, I’m left here alone, waiting. I keep seeing my friends get picked up, and my heart sinks a little more each time. I’m happy for them, of course, but I can’t help but feel so sad and forgotten. 😞
I adore people with all my heart and crave their affection. I’ve shared my life with other dogs before, but after a recent foster experience, I’ve become a bit selective about my furry friends. If you have dogs at home, I hope we can take the time to see if we can get along.
I’m already potty trained, kennel trained, spayed, and vaccinated. If you think you could be the one to give a girl like me a forever home, please consider filling out an adoption application on the DDS website. I just want to share my love with someone special. I’ve heard that the adoption fee can even be sponsored for the right family, but what I really want is a warm place to call home and a human to love. I hope one day someone will see me and decide to take me home. Until then, I’ll just keep waiting.🙏

😳What do you do when you have no volunteers and you have to manage 10 - 6 week old Velociraptors?! You just lock yourself in their pen and pray…. It’s the safest thing at this point. 😫
