🚨 Temporary Pause on Intake & Applications

Hey everyone! I hope you’re having an amazing week! 😁 We wanted to give you a quick update—our team will be temporarily pausing all intake and application processing for the next week or two. Life is throwing a lot at us right now, and we truly appreciate your patience while we juggle all the chaos.

Here’s what’s happening:
🐾 I’ll be on the road this week, transporting Gator to his new home in Pennsylvania.
🐾 Our incredible adoption coordinator is also traveling for work.
🐾 As most of you know, we are entirely volunteer-run. We all have full-time jobs (some of us have two!) on top of running this rescue.

What This Means for You:

✔️ If you’ve submitted an application—don’t worry, we’ve got it! We just need a little extra time to process everything.
✔️ The only dog currently available for adoption is Mongo. But don’t worry—there’s a long list of Danes waiting to come in… if I ever find the time to go through them. 🫣

We promise we’ll be back at it as soon as possible! Thank you for your patience, support, and understanding. We couldn’t do this without you!

🥳👏We're thrilled to share that we recently welcomed three more adorable puppies: Corvette, Leeroy, and Bug from the same litter as last weekend. These baby gentle giants have quickly found loving families who are ready to shower them with all the love and care they deserve.❤️

Thank you to the amazing families who opened their homes to these precious pups. We couldn't be happier knowing that Corvette, Leeroy, and Bug have found their furever homes where they will thrive and be cherished!

🎉 We are thrilled to announce that our sweet girl, Nora, has been adopted! 🐾 When Nora first came to us, she was very malnourished and thin, but she was surprisingly healthy and full of energy. Now, she has found her perfect family with Tara and her wonderful family. Thank you, Tara, for opening your hearts and home to Nora. We can't wait to see her grow and catch up to normal giant size! 🐶💕

🙏We were overwhelmed with the number of applications and the outpouring of love for Nora. Your support means the world to us, and we truly appreciate each and every one of you who reached out to give this sweet girl a loving home.

For those who applied and didn't receive an interview call, please be patient with us. We have a list of approved adopters we've spoken with to ensure each dog finds their perfect match. Sometimes we have a clear idea of where a dog should go based on our waiting list of approved adopters. Rest assured, we still want to connect with you to help find your perfect gently giant!!

🎉We are over the moon to share that Daisy, a sweet and loving pup who joined us here at DDS back in January, has found her forever home! From the moment Daisy arrived, she was welcomed into the arms of a foster family who had been patiently waiting for a female companion after the loss of their beloved female Dane. It seems the universe aligned perfectly for Daisy and the Kruger family.

Daisy is living her best life alongside her new family. Her days are filled with love, joy, and endless tail-wags, thanks to the amazing care and affection she's receiving.

A heartfelt thank you to the Kruger family for opening their hearts and home to Daisy. Your love and dedication have made all the difference in her life. 🐾❤️

🐾❤️We are thrilled to announce that all three of our adorable pups—Cheyenne, Wrangler, and Durango—have been adopted and have gone to their loving forever homes! 🎉🐾

These charming pups have captured the hearts of many, and we are overjoyed that they will now be showered with love and care in their new families. Each of these puppies has found a unique home where they will be cherished and can thrive.

👋Hi there! I’m Nora, and I can’t wait to meet my future family! I might be just 12 weeks old and a little on the small side, but I promise I have a big heart and an even bigger personality!🫶

I’m currently on the lookout for my forever home where I can bring all my playful energy and wagging tail!! I may have started off a bit malnourished, but don’t worry! I’ve been to the vet, and I’m on my way to being a healthy, happy pup. With some yummy food and plenty of love, I’ll be catching up in no time! ❤️

Here’s a little about me:

🐾Age:12 weeks
🐾Current Status: Just a tiny bit malnourished but feeling great!
🐾Medical Notes: I’ve been dewormed and am getting healthier every day. Once I gain a bit more weight, I’ll start my vaccinations to keep me strong and safe.

💁🏼‍♀️I’m not just any puppy; I’m a bundle of joy ready to sprinkle happiness all around! Whether you’re a family, a single person, or anyone who loves puppies, I’m the perfect companion for you.

Now, here’s a fun little tidbit: I’ve taken it upon myself to chase after the big dogs here at DDS, and I have no idea why they look at me with those wide, terrified eyes! Maybe it’s my puppy superpowers or just my impressive speed that has them spooked. 🙄Either way, I’m on a mission to show them that size doesn’t matter when it comes to fun! 😆

🆘Help Us Find an Indoor Location for a Benefit Garage Sale!🏷️

We are reaching out to ask for your help in finding the perfect indoor location to host a garage sale to support our mission here at Daisy’s Dane Sanctuary!!

In 2022, right after we opened DDS, we hosted a garage sale in my personal garage and had an amazing turnout! However, managing the weather and rain while moving items in and out of the garage proved challenging. This year, we would love to host the garage sale again, but in an indoor space.

👀🐾What We're Looking For:
❤️An indoor building in the Kansas City area
❤️Available for a Friday and Saturday sometime in April or May
❤️Space to accommodate a large number of donated garage sale items
❤️A reasonable rental rate, or even better, a generous community member willing to donate the space

⁉️Why It Matters:*
Your support will help us raise funds to continue our mission to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome abandoned, neglected and owner-surrendered Great Danes of all ages.

💰The funds raised will go directly towards food, medical care, and other essential needs for our gentle giants.

🐾Nora update!

Besides being very malnourished and dehydrated, Nora is just fine and bad as hell! 🤣🤣 She has yelled at me, made Durango scream and climbed out of a 36” high pen. 🤦‍♀️

She is available for adoption! She just needs to gain some weight and then we can start her vaccinations.

❤️🐾Meet Nora, a 12-week-old Great Dane puppy in urgent need of our help. We found her in poor condition on Facebook, and our rescue coordinator drove 2.5 hours to bring her to safety. She's currently on her way to the vet for essential care.

We’ll keep you updated on her vet visit.

Rocco stopped by to donate a bunch of awesome toys and had a blast playing with Wrangler and Durango. If you’re not already following him, you should—he’s kind of a big deal on TikTok and social media!

👋Hello hoomans, It’s me, Felix, and I’m writing today with a mix of excitement and a little sadness. I have some news to share that brings a flicker of hope to my heart, but I can’t help feeling a bit lonely too.😕 📣Someone kind has sponsored my adoption fee, which is a wonderful blessing! It means my dream of finding a forever family is closer, yet I can’t shake the feeling of being overlooked. 💔 I’ve been at DDS for a few weeks now, watching as other puppies get chosen while I sit here, waiting and wondering why no one seems to notice me. Before I came to DDS, I was lost and wandering, just a “stray” looking for a kind soul. I was lucky enough to be rescued, but even now, there are moments when I feel so alone.
