Another (delayed) happy betta rescue update! Our white female from the first batch of bettas (drop name suggestions in the comments please) is almost completely recovered!
When we got her, she had a pretty bad fungal infection, leaving every inch of her body and fins covered in a layer of fungus. You could tell she was terrified and didn’t feel good at all. But after a month of treatment and healing, she’s a brand new fish! No more fungus and she’s got her spunk back! As soon as she finishes up with her meds, she’ll be all done in her recovery journey!

A happy betta update for the new year! Our red crowntail betta buddy from our first batch of rescues (we picked up batch three yesterday, so there’s a lot of updates to be had!) is doing SO much better from when we first got him and it’s truly heartwarming ❤️
When we first got him, he had a severe swim bladder issue to the point of spending most of his time floating on his side at the top of the water. Then, he wouldn’t eat for over a week after coming home, and we were really worried he wouldn’t make it!! Luckily, he decided to eat and he’s acting like a whole new fish! He’s playful, and feisty, and will even beg for food now! He still has difficulty swimming, but we can see improvement every week! We are hopeful he’ll make a full recovery in his swimming, but even if he doesn’t, we are just so happy he’s feeling better!

Rescue bettas update:
We lost our first betta, the white longfin male, the next day after bringing him home. Out of everyone, he was in the worst shape, and we were worried he wouldn’t even make it through the night. He clearly had severe fin rot, but we also strongly suspected he had a bacterial infection and internal damage/bleeding. We did mild treatment, as we knew he wasn’t strong enough to survive aggressive treatment, but sadly he was just already too sick. We truly hope that we were able to make his passing as painless and peaceful as possible.
Mini rainbowfish update, but also a wonderful new project! We are so excited to help these bettas recover to becoming happy and healthy fishies again ❤️ Stay tuned in for their individual recovery journeys!

They’re hatching!!! These are some of our freshly hatched rainbowfish, chilatherina fasciata “kali biru” to be exact. These little guys are only about the size of an eyelash, so they aren’t exactly the easiest to capture on camera 😅 Hoping that all of their siblings finish up hatching today!
