Changes to the AS2 and AS3 detection for 2024
Effective immediately, the new amounts of Pyrodex R/S used for trial will be 3 tablespoons (per hide) for the AS2 and 5 tablespoons (per hide) for the AS3.
We will no longer be utilizing the duck cloth bags, as there are many options of size, closure mechanism and density.
We will now be using pantyhose for containing the odor. The pantyhose are to be cut and knotted on the ends (creating a pouch), essentially making a scent ball of odor within.
This pouch will be placed in the metal canister for the AS2 and in the luggage for the AS3.
The vehicle search (AS3) will utilize magnetic boxes which will contain this scent ball of odor. These boxes are readily available online through multiple websites. Following are links to just a few possibilities.
