Wow almost 500 likes! Thank you everyone who is following along and praying for Breezy. She had 4 different tags on her which leads us to suspect she was shipped around quite a bit in the last few months. We were able to get 3 of them off, but it will pull her hair and skin so the one will be left for now.

Although she is not out of the woods yet, we will remain hopeful. She has a few things going on and we are addressing each one. First we need to get her nutrition back to normal. Then we can better assess her future needs. We are waiting on her blood screens to get a better idea of what she is lacking and are following the feed regiment recommended by the vet and her feed rep. The hind legs are very concerning and we really won't know if they are going to regain the needed strength to support her. Once we can get her body replenished with what she is lacking we will have a better idea if that was the cause of her hind end being so weak. She is laying down and able to get back up on her own, so we are happy to see that.

We are working very hard to address each and every concern with her. She needs time, we are giving her time. We will reevaluate her with the vet in a few weeks and then we can determine more of what we are dealing with.

On a POSTIVE note; She is gaining strength a little bit each day. She is putting a little more pressure on her hind leg, which is promising. Her energy levels are increasing a little more each night and her personality is starting to come thru. She needs time and rest and she is getting just that. We will give her all the time she needs 🙏

Breezy had her vet visit today. It went very well!! She is not in foal, and overall the vet was pleased with where she is at considering her situation. Our focus right now is lots of rest and getting her back legs stronger. She was bearing a little weight on her back left leg today which is a huge milestone as she hasn’t wanted to the last few days. She loves carrots and apples, is curious and was a super good girl for the doc. She will be on stall rest for the next few weeks and will be introduced to a new feed regiment in the next couple days. We are following all the vets recommendations to give her the best chance she can get to regain her strength. We are all rooting for her and we are grateful that you are here with us following along in her recovery.

Today is Breezy first full day back in her home grounds. Here is a idea of her conditions. We will keep everyone updated on her progress. However as she is in quarantine so picture may not be as frequent. The vet, farrier & feed rep will be all arriving this week, we will be following their protocols and recommendations for her well-being. We can all pray for a recovery. Right now her hind end is extremely weak. She is bright and is super sweet. She did receive a medicated bath tonight which she seemed to enjoy.
Please continue to watch Breezys journey, as it will take a whole community to bring her back to good health and happiness

Bruce Rotz
Rotz is a Pennsylvania-based kill buyer who regularly ships horses to Viande Richelieu in Quebec. Rotz also owns his own trucking company, which he uses to ship horses over the border. There were two transport incidents involving Rotz’s trailers with a combined 40 horses killed in these events. There are numerous USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) violations against Rotz, including improper documentation and the shipment of injured or blind horses to slaughter.

Investigators followed a transport truck leaving Rotz’s farm destined for the Richelieu plant. The horses were packed into the trailer for more than 24 hours and never given water.

Any and all donations will go directly to her care. She will need medical evaluation as soon as she arrives in NY. Will have to be quarantined for at least 30 days and will need special feed and supplements. Once she sees the vet we will know more. Right now we know she is very malnourished. We are working on getting her to NY by Friday. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. We will keep you posted!!

We were made aware of a mare that was being held in a kill pen in PA that was bred in Lowville NY by Malcom Parks of Breezy Knoll Farm. We have secured her rescue and are working on picking her up. She will be in a quarantine barn initially and will receive needed medical care. We have set up this page to document her journey. Thru love, dedication and hard work we hope she can live out the rest of her life healthy and happy. Please follow, donate, share and we look forward to sharing her with you. The cost of rescue can be very high, but the rewards of saving one of these beautiful deserving animals is priceless. We are accepting donations for her care and rehabilitation.
It is our mission to save more of these beautiful souls. We will not stop with Breezy. Your donations will go towards the care and treatment of the rescues of “Breezy’s Brigade”. We have started a go fund me page for the organization and
will be posting as often as we can to update you on each of Breezy’s Brigade’s rescues. Thank you for all your shares, likes, follows and donations. We are grateful for your support 🙏
