We are so blessed to have our team of trainers, trainees, and handlers apart of our team. It takes our full village to be in several places at once and help your family 365 days a year!

Stephanie V has been with Happie Doggie for three and a half years and this summer has taken on a new role as a trainee.

THANK YOU STEPHANIE V for caring about each dog like your own, paying attention to every detail to keep the squad /all safe, your positive can do anything and extremely patient and kind attitude, and the aura you bring to our team.

Stephanie is a full time teacher for 8 years, so stepping in to work summers, weekends, holiday weeks is a seamless transition for her and comes natural in her being.

We are so grateful to have you with us this summer full time Stephanie!

Emma use to not like the water, only paw deep. Then she was inspired by playing with friends, and went to ankle deep. Then she began going IN the water, just not past her belly where she was actually swimming (she clearly didn’t enjoy losing touch with the ground)

The last few weeks every single day multiple times a day Emma has had exposure to deeper waters of alpine lakes and rivers.

With the introduction of a new toy, this girly is SWIMMING a few doggie paddles at a time !! She is still noticeably uncomfortable losing touch with the ground, but enjoys being in the water so much we have to stop her from playing in it

Indoor rest time is something we incorporate into our days of Adventure Care to simulate a healthy balanced day for your dog like they were at home, especially in the summer time heat!

High intensity exercise every second of the day is unhealthy for our dogs, and not something we believe in at Happie Doggie.

After we have our outdoor nature morning routine, we give baths, settle the dogs in for naps & brunch for those who eat twice a day, and humans take lunch too

Coming out of lunch we facilitate indoor play/ brush up on training in the summer months.

Fall/winter/spring season we have much more freedom with weather to safely be outside in the hottest parts of the day for a second round of walks.

Some days even in the summer we can get back out for a gentle slow paced walk in shade or grounding in the grass.

We are almost through your dogs toughest and most dangerous season! 🥵

Until then, we hold tremendous gratitude for our satellite location in River Edge providing us with an indoor cool space for the dogs to nap and have indoor play in the times of year / crummy days it’s needed to adjust.

Emma even before she was our dog, was a mentor dog and came along with us for training sessions / socially welcoming new puppies and dogs. She’s just one of the best dogs we’ve ever known, we feel so lucky to be her guardians the last year and a half and here on forward 💓

To keep her feeling healthy and full of life is an Integrative and team Approach — thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone that’s involved in this nurturing of Emma’s spirit 🌸

Want to keep your dogs safe around doorways? Our dogs should see an open door as no invitation outside until a voice/hand cue is made.

This sets the calmness you want to take with you into the walk, but more than anything it gives you the chance to check outside for safety before your dog and you exit, and teaches them when a door is open we don’t dart out

Squad ready for their Adventure Day 🏊‍♂️🌳🐶🐶

Sometimes people ask, how do you handle all these dogs?
How do they all get along? Short answer is we are all trainers or trainers in training and these dogs are BEST FRIENDS!

1. We have a lengthy screening process to check for temperament, not every dog wants to be in a group and some prefer solo care and that we can help with too apart from Adventure Day’s. Every dog deserves care suited for them!

Many times in the news you hear horror stories of Dogs getting mauled to death at their boarding place 😭. We are a tiny boutique company and it’s why we have a lengthy onboarding process and will NEVER accept a next day care request ever to ensure this never happens with us!

2. Training, every dog goes through a training program, or if entirely fully trained goes through an orientation training before joining to get on the same page with how we train and operate — all rooted in safety

3. We intentionally build bonds slowly to ensure energy matches, pair up walking pals, days, to fit best for each dog

4. We all undergo continuous training and to keep our training certification valid take CEU’s ongoing (continued education units) and LOVE to continue evolving to be better yearly for the dogs

5. We have conversations which each of our families monitoring new dogs happiness/ comfort and have the hard conversations of switching to solo care if your dog is not enjoying group care. Just like humans are different so are dogs, and we believe so deeply in honoring each dog

6. We have so many safety protocols in place, multiple back up emergency systems, your dogs aren’t leaving us and their pals

7. Health training, each trainer and handler knows how to prevent overheating, bloat, and prevent scenario’s from occurring. Even so life is not perfect when you’re out having fun in the wild, so we make it a point to control everything we can control!

8. Our doggie routine out and about with rest in between honors a dogs instinctual needs. These dogs are so fulfilled and happy by the end of the day, they are their best selves exerting healthy amount of energy, social time, staying sharp and furthering their training

If you ever wondered who does all the maintenance on our rigs, from the mechanical components of vehicle to the interior carpentry, electric, plumbing, EVERYTHING —- it’s Dean !

Dean is not only our Manager, he is also the master builder behind our camper vans and ensuring we are safe and sound to ride 🚐

He does all of this work in the second half of the day, the weekends, and is always doing something to improve, maintain, and upgrade our HDHQ and our camper vans.
