1/4 c coconut oil
3/4 c water
1 egg

Here’s a Healthy Pup Cake Recipe you can make at home for your pups
For the Cake:
2 eggs
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup coconut oil
2/3 cup water
1/3 cup honey
2 1/2 cups shredded carrot
2 cups whole wheat flour (or white flour)
2 1/2 tsp baking soda
For the frosting I used 1-1 1/2 cups of plain Greek yogurt
1. Preheat to 325 degrees F
2. Grease your pans
3. Mix wet ingredients- eggs, pb, honey, water, coconut oil.
4. Add shredded carrots followed by dry ingredients- flour and baking soda.
5. Once fully incorporated, place into baking pans. I used 4, 4 inch circle pans.
6. Bake for 25 min or until a toothpick comes out clean when placing in the center of the cake.
7. Assemble and ice your cake and enjoy!
We made Dr. Judy Morgan’s @drjudymorgan pup loaf for the first time.
If you’re not familiar, here are the ingredients
Ingredients:
* 3 pounds beef (90% lean)
* 8 ounces beef heart
* 5 ounces beef liver
* 3 cans sardines in water, minus the juice
* 6 ounces mussels (3 teaspoons kelp could replace the mussels for trace minerals)
* 2 teaspoons ground fresh ginger
* 5 eggs with shell
* 3 ounces red bell pepper
* 4 ounces broccoli
* 6 ounces butternut squash
* 4 ounces Shiitake mushrooms
Her recipe also calls for the following ingredients but we made a few changes in this video and I’ll explain what we did instead:
* 20 ounces chicken gizzards (we were unable to find this at the store, so we substituted for chicken thighs)
* 5 ounces mixed dark leafy greens (kale, chard, spinach) (we did not have this on hand, so we skipped including it as our dogs get their Super Greens + daily which includes 8 unique green vegetables)
* 4 ounces cranberries (grocery store also did not have cranberries so we used wild blueberries instead. Cranberries are excellent for urinary tract health though and is also included in Super Greens +)
* 3 tablespoons flax seed oil (we personally do not use any seed oils. Instead we add wild caught salmon oil with their breakfast every morning)
Dr Judy Morgan suggests feeding your pup 2-3% of your dogs body weight per day. For example, Malibu is 50 pounds so she would get 1 pound per day (2%). We split this into 2 meals, breakfast and dinner.
