For my clients in DC and northern VA, this applies to your PETS too!! Bottled water for your dogs until you get the “all clear”.

People are being asked to boil their water before drinking it in all of Washington, DC and Arlington County in Virginia due to an increase in algae blooms in the Potomac River, as the nation’s capital prepares for its annual Fourth of July celebrations.

Please please please do your part to avoid your pup getting lost over the next few days with all the fireworks everywhere.
Check your gates, update microchip info NOW, get meds if they need them to stay calm and double leash at all times.
July 4th is the worst time for shelters that are already overflowing as this has been the worst the rescue world has seen in a long time 💔

🐶 Exciting News from Paws and Possibilities! 🐶

We're thrilled to announce a special opportunity for foster puppies! At Paws and Possibilities Dog Training, we believe every pup deserves the best start in life. That's why we're opening our Puppy Program to offer complimentary training for foster puppies under 6 months old.

This is a new opportunity with only a few spaces available, so don't miss out! If you’re fostering a puppy who has been cleared by a vet, we’d love to welcome them into our program while they wait for their forever home.

Let's work together to give these puppies the foundation they need to thrive. 🐶❤️

For more information or to apply, comment below or send us a message!

Thank you for being a part of our community and helping us spread the word by sharing this post and tagging rescue organizations in Anne Arundel County you think would like to take advantage of this opportunity!

Taking your dog for a short walk doesn’t fulfill their drives. Depending on your dog’s breed and temperament, it will be different for each of you what it looks like to have your dog fulfilled. At the near minimum, aim to have your dog mentally + physically stimulated each day. Add in some interesting ways for them to interact with food and toys (enrichment) each week, too.
Share some fun, unique ways you aim to fulfill your dog’s drives. Comment below!

Keeping your pet safe during the upcoming eclipse is important due to potential confusion and anxiety that can be caused by the unusual dimming of light. Here are some key points to keep your pets safe during the eclipse:

Keep them indoors: Keep your pets indoors during the eclipse to prevent confusion or anxiety caused by the sudden changes in light. Ensure they are in a comfortable, familiar environment with curtains drawn or blinds closed to minimize exposure to the unusual lighting conditions.

Provide distractions: To help alleviate any anxiety your pet may experience during the eclipse, provide distractions such as toys, treats, or engaging activities. Keeping them occupied can divert their attention away from the unusual event outside.

Monitor outdoor activities: If you need to take your pet outside during the eclipse, keep them on a leash and closely supervise them at all times. Pets may become disoriented or frightened by the changing light conditions, so it's essential to keep them under control to prevent them from running off or getting injured
Create a calm environment: Keep noise levels low and maintain a calm atmosphere inside your home during the eclipse. Loud noises or sudden movements could exacerbate your pet's anxiety, so try to create a peaceful environment to help them feel secure.

Watch for signs of distress: Monitor your pet closely for any signs of distress or discomfort during and after the eclipse. Signs may include pacing, panting, trembling, or attempts to hide. If you notice any signs of anxiety, comfort your pet and provide reassurance until the eclipse has passed and normal daylight returns.

By following these key points, you can help ensure your pet stays safe and comfortable during the unusual event of an eclipse.
