Our Story

Kristen is a college student currently working towards her Bachelors Degree in Animal Science. Over the years Kristen has mentored under many different professionals from breeders and trainers to pet groomers and retail store owners. While majoring in dog grooming and training at Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School, she also mentored under a professional dog handler in the sport of purebred dogs. Her favorite times were spent traveling with dogs across the northeast, grooming, training, showing and most of all learning from every moment. From 11-19 years old Kristen was an extremely active 4-H member exhibiting her personal dogs and educating the public at as many fairs as possible throughout the summer months in New Hampshire. Her freshman to senior year in high school, Kristen was a member of the Essex FFA Chapter, with many projects and compitions all including or revolving around dogs. Kristen has learned so much from so many people and loves to help other dogs and humans by practicing or sharing her knowledge.

Exercise continues to stand as the foundation of Paws On The Go since it is an essential aspect of owning a dog that many of our lifestyles are unable to provide. Kristen first learned how to groom by working on show dogs and later pets, which is reflected in her style to this day. With this said, Kristen prioritizes the mental health of the animal over the physical appearance when grooming, which leads to a stress-free experience and ultimately is reflected in a beautiful haircut with a relaxed dog.

For the past five years, Paws On The Go has acted as a Supervised Agricultural Experience under the National FFA Organization aiding Kristen in reaching for her American Degree for the year of 2021 or 2022. The American Degree is the highest degree in the National FFA Organization that less than one percent of FFA members receive. A message from Kristen: “I am honored to be a steward to some of the most kind-hearted creatures. When I am entrusted to care for someone else’s dog through walking, grooming, or other care, I cherish spending my time caring for their dog. I will always do what is best for the dog, and will never cease learning from them and with them.”
