Monty takes his acrobatics VERY seriously!!
I think he might be a star in the making!!
A last minute decision to take Monty for him to jump a double clear to win the 1m class and 2nd in the 90cm.
Dancer loved every second of being back out jumping, and came home with a win in the 85 and 2nd in the 80cm.
Diolch @carylrhianthomas and everyone @lluest_equine_centre for a great day!!
🌟 2023 over and out 🌟
This last year had been mad!
Lessons learnt, goals met, new goals made, childhood dreams achieved and the privilege of riding so many amazing horses!!
I am so grateful to everyone that has help turn my dreams into a reality!!
Happy New Year!!
Lets see what adventures 2024 will bring!!
Weeell, someone was happy to see some jumps again!!! The 2024 event season looks to be an exciting one 🤞🏻
Turning a racehorse into my dream horse 🥰
What 9 months of patience, hard work and a lot of food can do for a racehorse….
Monty 💙
First show jumping competition ✅
First full course ✅
So so impressed with how he just takes everything in his stride. He very happily and confidently popped round the 70cm and 80cm classes with no fuss.
He has jumped just three times since the start of his retraining!!
Yes, he did have a few poles. Yes, he was far from perfect but he exceeded all expectations I had of him. I went with the aim of quietly popping round the 70cm from trot and coming home, but the second we got into the ring he was just a pro! Coming away with two fairly rhythmical rounds 💙

⭐️Who the heck cares!⭐️
I have to admit, I previously struggled with the mindset of ‘I can’t be seen jumping small fences!’ To the point, where I have naively pushed my horses to train, or sometimes competed over bigger courses that they were not ready to jump! I was very lucky and that didn’t affect my horses confidence too much, but over the last couple of years where I have been riding a variety of horses, I soon had the reality check I needed.
❕Stop caring what heights you’re jumping! ❕Stop caring about what anyone else thinks!!
This is Monty! A 7 year old, Thoroughbred who had a racing injury earlier this year. He is now with me to be retrained, hopefully to do some low level eventing. We’ve done about 8 weeks of lots of hacking and some basic schooling.
This is his first time out since his racing career ended in June. His first time jumping since coming back into work; first time over show jumping course; first time in an indoor school and in a group of horses! So many firsts for this guy and he behaved impeccably!
Yes, they were only tiny cross poles but he did everything calmly and confidently. I know he is capable of so much more, and I’m excited to tap into that potential as he gets stronger!
Just look how happy he is ❤️
Thank you Kelly!
⭐️ Eva ⭐️ These clips are taken just two weeks apart! So so happy with how this little mare has taken to her new life as a ridden pony!! She heads home on Saturday and I’d be lying if I said I won’t miss riding her!
