Minnow took on Clinton today. She hasn't been there since she was a very small puppy to work on exposure. Today, we focused on leash manners and ignoring people. She did great! And I was so happy with her focus (once we got into a groove). I'm excited to get her out in more places!

I know I said there would be a November Hike, but the month got ahead of me before I could plan it. So please accept my deepest apologies and join us for a fun December Hike at the Princeton Battlefield.
We will meet in the parking lot off of Mercer Rd. This 2.4 mile loop will take about an hour to complete. It's a relatively easy trail but can get muddy/icy after rain or snow, so please be prepared with appropriate footwear.
Please remember to RSVP to me so I have a headcount.
Also, please keep in mind our group rules:
1. Please keep all dogs on a 6-foot leash or shorter at all times. (No flexi leads)
2. No, on leash greetings between dogs. No nose to nose contact.
3. No touching someone's dog without permission.
4. Pick up after your dog.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone again in December!

Three peas in a pod, enjoying their hiking adventures!
Ricky loved hiking with friends. He did well on leash and ignored the other dogs like a pro! Rules are really starting to click with him, now that he has the ecollar and he is loving the freedom it brings!

Ricky is back for some refresher boarding!
Over the next 10 days, Ricky will be learning the ecollar so that his mom can easily enforce commands and allow him off leash freedom in her yard.

Welcoming Buddie for boarding! Buddie has completed private lessons and consults in the past and is now boarding with us while his mom is away!
While he's here, we will be working on his leash walking skills and introduce him to the prong collar to help make walks easier and more enjoyable for both him and mom.

Thank you to everyone who joined our October Pack Hike! We had a great Hike at Hacklebarney State Park a few weekends ago! The weather was perfect and everyone had a great time at the cider mill after the hike!
I want to give a huge thank you to for toughing out the hike and taking the best photos as always of all the dogs!
Remember, our Ghost Tour is THIS SUNDAY at 10am! If you want to sign up, you have 2 more hours to do so! Please venmo me for your RSVP. See the flyer for details!
Our next hike will be toward the end of November, so stay tuned!

Another day, another fall walk with these 3.
It's hard to tell from all the photos I post of these 3 together, but Bailey actually doesn't love other dogs. Pack walks like this help to build neutrality, confidence, and can help to socialize an unsocial dog in a non-confrontational way.
This is also a great way to introduce two or more unknown dogs. I love to start by going for structured walks together until the dogs are used to one another and neutral toward each other.
Pack walks can help a reactive dog make a potential friend or an overly friendly dog calm down around others.
There are so many applications and benefits to this sort of structured walk, and it's one of my favorite ways to get dogs together.
Happy training!

Welcoming Moxi to the Canine Potential Pack! Moxi is an 18 month old German Shepherd puppy who struggles with reactivity/stranger danger that results in aggressive tendencies towards people. She also loves to act like a giant puppy and ignore commands, and destroy her home. She is enrolled in private lessons with the goal of e-collar conditioning her to help her family better and more safely control her whole being able to enforce commands and stop unwanted behavior.
Moxi is already doing so well in her training, and we can't wait to see her reach her full potential!

We have some exciting events coming up this October! The first is our annual trip to Hacklebarney State Park!
This trail is one of the longer and more difficult trails we do at 3.7 miles with uneven terrain. Make sure you have a solid pair of hiking boots for this, and be sure to bring enough water for your dog. We are starting at 10 am this year and I'm anticipating that we will finish the hike by noon-12:30.
But what's a difficult hike without a reward or sweet treat at the end? Everyone is welcome to join us after the hike at the Hacklebarney Cider Mill and Farm for cider donuts and fresh pressed apple cider!
Please note that dogs are welcome on the property but are not allowed inside the farm store.
This hike is by far my favorite, and I hope you all enjoy it too! We can't wait to see everyone there on October 6th at 10 am!
Please RSVP so I know you'll be there! And please keep our group rules in mind!

Getting ready and excited for our September Pack hike!
This one will be cool because it's on a friend's farm, and the dogs will get to walk along livestock pastures, down to a big pond and through old hay fields.
The walk will be a little less than a mile and will probably take about 45 minutes to an hour. Hiking shoes/appropriate footwear is a must! This is an easy hike but is not wheelchair or stroller friendly!
Parking will be near the house and siloh.
We will be meeting at 10:00 am on September 22nd. Look for the sign that says "Sycamore Farm"!
As always, please follow our group rules:
• keep all dogs on a 6-foot leash or shorter at all times. No retractable leashes!
• no on leash greetings between dogs. Keep an appropriate distance.
• no touching someone's dog without the owner's permission.
• please pick up after your dog!
We are looking forward to this hike and can't wait to see you all there!
Remember to RSVP so I know who's coming!
