How do you know when you’re ready? 🐶💔

While I’m not normally one to seek advice from more than a select few people, I’d really appreciate some helpful guidance from fellow dog lovers: how do you know when you’re ready to welcome another 🐶 into your family after losing one you loved so very much?

Because I think it’s what I want but sometimes I question if it’s right and if I’m just trying to fill the quiet house and giant Annie-sized hole in my 💔. There’s so many conflicting emotions of bringing a new little love into our lives - especially guilt.

Our Gunnel Pup of the Month is: Suzie! 🐶

Suzie is going to be 4 on November 11th. Dock diving is definitely her favorite water activity, but she also loves water sports. She’s very sweet and thinks everyone is her friend! Even though she’s crazy active, she’s also the best snuggle bug.

Hi all,

I want to begin by saying how much I appreciate all of your kind words about Annie. I miss her so much and know I always will.

Annie will forever be a part of me and is the reason for Gunnel Pups. And that’s not going to change. I will continue to share memories of Annie with you, especially the ones that are close to my heart. In three short years, she brought me an unquantifiable amount of love and joy. For that, I’m eternally grateful.

I’m proud of the path she set me on, one that inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and take a risk. Starting Gunnel Pups has been one of the most exciting and terrifying things I’ve ever done. It may fail, and that’s scary. But it may succeed. And that’s the plan.

So, I’m going to do my very best to deliver the best dog gear for you and your pup’s adventures on the water because it’s what Annie and I loved doing together so very much.

As I grieve, know there are exciting things on the horizon for Gunnel Pups. And though it will undoubtedly be hard at times, I’m thankful for your support and the space to share Annie’s legacy with you.

Most of you know that this girl right here is the entire reason Gunnel Pups exists. And many of you know that Annie was born with renal dysplasia, where her kidneys weren’t fully formed. This has led to many days where Annie doesn’t feel great, and many vet appointments over the past three years. So I want to share that our Annie girl came home from an overnight stay from after her wonderful team Llyods recommend she receive fluids after she all but stopped eating. Sadly, we have entered the final stage of Annie’s disease at 3.3 years old. She’s hanging in there and we still have options but please say a prayer for our Annie girl. And squeeze your pups a little bit tighter today. ❤️🐶❤️

How should you care for you GunnelPups collar? It’s easy!

You can machine wash our products in cold water on delicate cycle only.

If your pup really has some fun and gets some hard to remove spots, or maybe you want to brighten soiled areas, consider soaking with a color-safe powdered cleaning product or stain remover, followed by a delicate machine wash. Then, air dry. Swipe ➡️ for before and afters!

It’s not all sunshine and beach days for this beautiful girl….. Annie was born with renal dysplasia, a disease where her kidneys never fully formed. It was discovered early on, after a UTI wouldn’t go away, coupled with excessive water drinking. And so from three months on her life hasn’t been easy. She’s endured more vet visits and tests than most 15 year-old dogs (she’s two). She’s on enough medications that I had to buy a pill organizer, and she eats special food to optimize her health. Today she went to the vet and we had to give her some anti-anxiety meds to get her through the visit. And now we’ve got a sleepy puppy on our hands. 😴🐶
