Good morning! While it’s a little rainy this morning, the weather has recently warmed up and horsey folks are getting the itch to leg up horses for spring.
Regardless of your equestrian sport of choice it’s a good idea to bring structure and consistency to your horse’s routine in the process of bringing them back into tiptop shape.
As I grow a little older, I realize I need to stretch and warm up more before exercise to not pay the price of soreness and ache. Our horses are not so different. I always encourage my clients to regularly stretch, warm up, and “map” their horses before work.
Don’t let your lack of preparedness lead to your horse’s soreness! Remember training is a marathon not a race! (Even if you’re training for a race.)
