After fixing some swimming issues Cynder is really looking good in the water. First double in the water and she killed it! She is full of drive and shows up ready to work every day. Really a fun dog to work with!

BB first time in the water last night. Wrapping up force fetch and she needed a mental break so took her to the pond and she really surprised me with how well she did. Sometimes dogs need mental breaks to, if your struggling take a day off and have some fun!

Our Shelter dog for the month is HOUDINI. Houdini is a 12 month old male lab. He has the lab pup energy! This boy needs a home where he can play and run! He has been in the shelter since he was a pup!

This training season were trying something new we will choose one dog every month from the Animal Shelter of Linn County, Missouri. If you adopt them that month you will get a $250 gift certificate off of our 1 month obedience course!
This month we chose McCormick. McCormick is a 1.5 year old male. He is a lab mixed breed. He is a little shy but warms up when loves are given. McCormick was brought in 1 year ago after being a house dog, but his owners where no longer able to care for him. He is a sweet boy and does well on a leash after he gets the zoomies out from being cooped up in the shelter over the winter. $25 adoption fee.

Haven’t done the best at posting lately! Took some much needed time off to finish out hunting season and get through the winter lull, with that being said we are looking ahead to spring/summer training season! I have 3 spots to fill for my first round of dogs this year. If you’re interested in seeing your dog go to the next level don’t hesitate to reach out to us! Plenty of references available!

All I can say is wow when it comes to Rhea. What a ball of fire. So much drive and energy out of a young dog is what every trainer loves to see. So very thankful for the opportunity to train her and she’s going home to a very wonderful family that I’m now thankful to call friends. Have a safe and happy hunting season! Erin Fehling Jenkins

Dixie is my first finished dog to go home this summer. I could go on for hours about all the battles we faced in her time here but it was all worth it In the end. She worked hard every day ended up turning into a well rounded retriever. I also must say she is one of the prettiest dogs I’ve had the pleasure of training yet. Thank you Caleb Allen for trusting us with your buddy.

Most dogs don’t come out of the womb ready to go to the blind and even after months of training there are still things that can be worked on. We are here to put in the work every single day to ensure that when it’s go time your dog has the best chance at success. Dakota
Dakota is our newest dog at Small Kennels and Gracie is doing his obedience training! He extremely intelligent and is a very good learner for 2 years old!

Merle’s first night on flyers picking up a simple single in the tall grass. Gave a slight correction on the way back cause he was trying to head to the water pale first but other then that he did great! Lord of drive out of him excited to see how far he goes!

First night working on flyers and all the dogs did really well. Here is a video of Rhea picking up a double. Goal is to get them to go after the long bird first then the short bird.
