A word on transport for our Toulouse.
• We are an integrated farming business with multiple enterprise activities.
• We are not a backyard operation that can drop everything at short notice.
• Our Toulouse flock is one of the largest built on the best genetics available in Australia.
• Our birds are only available from the farm gate, no exceptions.
• Buyers use transport at their own risk and we will not warrant nor be responsible for any issues after the birds leave our farm gate.
• Pick date and time are to be organised in advance after confirmation of payment and are firm, no stuffing around, if your transporter cannot keep to a professional schedule then use someone else.
• We require a minimum 24 hours notice for confirmation of the scheduled pick up time.
• Collection and loading the birds onto transport completes our contractual obligations and confirms the buyer’s acceptance.
• If buyers and or their transporters stuff around and fail to collect birds at the scheduled date and time. A cancellation fee will apply.
• We recommend JetPets.
• We do not recommend long haul road transport.

FYI for prospective Toulouse people. The going rate for foundation stock is $330 inc gst per bird, as per the first photo. Show quality stock like the second photo are much, much, much higher value and take a high level of skill and care to raise. Very few breeders have these and even less have them for sale.

Buying poultry, why you should buy from a registered breeder.

Social media has dramatically changed this market over the recent past. Now we see every backyard fool and retired hobbyist with a cheap incubator flooding the market with birds. If you are buying new laying hens know this.
1. There is no guarantee you will get quality birds, there is a massive amount of crossbred crap on the market.
2. If you buy from an Unregistered breeder you are not protected by consumer law. Once you buy from one of these guy’s you’re on your own, no refunds, no buyer protection.

Always buy from a reputable, registered breeder who has a PIC number and an ABN.

Know your consumer rights, don’t buy from unregistered hobby and backyard breeders.

No other breeder has this line. All Australorps available on the market today are bred from show stock not the traditional heritage layer line.

Panic buying chickens. Lets get this clear, we breed poultry in line with market demand. It takes 18 weeks to prepare and breed Point of Lay hens. Demand for hens has been extremely low due to "back yard hack" breeders flooding the market with low quality birds. It will take 4 months to gear up to meet this current panic buying demand. I for one will not be counting on this current demand to still be there in 4 months time. So for us it is business as usual we have high quality birds in limited numbers at regular intervals. Buyers are on a first come first pay basis, no holds, no deposits.
