It's squirrel baby season... remember these things. And also if its eyes aren't open it needs to be on a heating pad on low under the container and also needs to be stimulated to go to the bathroom. A wet Q-tip will work. If eyes are open typically doesn't need heat unless cold to the touch. Warming in your shirt or bra... skin to skin is fastest!

So here's a squirrelly story...a few years ago I had released a squirrel baby I had raised. A few days later while sitting on my porch he came dragging his legs behind him and crawled up on my lap and then literally face planted. He fell right over in my lap he was so tired from being out all night but not able to get in his tree. Luckily his legs started working again after a brief stay in the squirrel hotel. 🥰

The best thing you can do if you find one of these little guys... is get them on a heating pad on low underneath the container you're keeping them in. They have to be warm before they eat. And the best quickest way to warm is skin-to-skin. Use a towel or old t-shirt for their nest. And wrap them in it. After they are warm then you can start small droppers or syringe full of Pedialyte. Homemade is fine. Warm and hydrated is the ticket to keeping them alive.
