October 1st is National Black Dog Day! 🐶

Unfortunately, black dogs are less likely to be adopted for no other reason than their coloring. Regardless of behavior, size, breeding, personality, or age, the phenomenon persists.

You'll find their behavior is no different from dogs of a different color. They fetch, play, and wag their tails just the same. Of course, they also come in short hair, long-haired and shaggy breeds, too. Do you like a floppy-eared pup? Every ear, tail, bark, and size comes in some beautiful shade of black. Big paws and little paws, too.

Not only do they come in every shape and size, but they all need forever homes. Their temperament ranges just like any other color of a dog. Breeding and previous care affect how they respond.

If you want to add a canine companion to your pack, consider adopting one with an ebony sheen. Their loyalty is no less or more than another dog, but they need a home, too.

Beautiful Roxy was also admitted to Hillcrest Vet - she’s not been well, and has been put on a drip, she’s the sweetest little girl - vet said today (she went in yesterday) it’s 50/50 - just have to pray she turns the corner - they running tests and doing everything they can.
Our vet bills are just going up and up - we all have pets so we all know 😢 these sweet dogs only have us, and your kindness and love.
If anyone can help please - we can do everything in our power to give her a chance, but financially - we desperately need you 🙏

I had the pleasure of spending this past weekend down on the South Coast with some of the sweetest little doggos!

Bella, the Morkie, started her weekend off very anxious but with lots of patience, love, cuddles and some treats, I finally won her over and got twice as much love back from her as I gave! 🥰

Hello Upper Highway!👋🏽

Wow, the past two weeks (or two years!) have been trying - to say the least. From Covid-19 in 2020 to the looting we experienced in 2021, and now the terrential downpours that tore up our beautiful province just two weeks ago..🙊

We have suffered, yes, but honestly just being a part of our amazing community gives me the strength and courage to say that life is going to have to try much, much harder to get us down!

Our team sends you and your families only good vibes after all the obstacles that life has thrown our way. We are resilient and we've got this! We will come back bigger, better and stronger than ever! 💪😁🏆
