Tips on what to do when you encounter a stray pet:

1) Don’t cause an accident
The first time you encountered the stray animal , you must first secure secure your area by parking your car off the road, set the parking brakes and put on your hazard lights

2) Handle them safely
Observe the situation of the animal before you approach them and find something that can restrain so they won’t be able to leave.

3) Be careful
Be very cautious when you approach the animal , reassure them to be calm and they can trust you

4) Call for help
Ask help from the local animal control agency or the police. Leave your phone number to the dispatch so they can call you . Report to the authorities the features of pet and the place and where you found it .

5) Transport them safely
Transport to the nearest animal shelter , if they are injured take them to the vet and call the authorities about your location.
