**If any of our affiliates have questions or concerns about the transition please message me. It’s mostly just a change in lead volunteers and our county facility changed its name so we’re following their lead.

Some changes have happened in the animal shelter (now animal control) and I (Sara Smith) am coordinating physical volunteers for the shelter through this page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100093374423392&mibextid=LQQJ4d

I’ll be stepping away from the friends of page to solely focus on coordinating volunteerism at LCAC. I’ll be posting available animals on the new page from now on. I thank you all for your support!

Thursday we received a call about a mama dog that came on someone's property and had puppies. She apparently got spooked and ran off leaving the puppies. I picked them up and searched for mom. She was no where to be found. The puppies have done great being bottle fed. This afternoon she came back and the property owner was able to get her in a pin. I picked her up and slowly reunited her with her babies. They are all doing great. Days like today is what makes this job worth it all. Thank you to all involved with this adventure. Now with a little more luck a rescue will pull mom and pups so they will get there forever homes.

We’re so happy so many are interested in Coco and Brodie. Please be patient with the shelter as the manage high call and voicemail volume. And application can be picked up in person and I THINK they’re working on a way to do online too. But you’ll need to call the shelter for clarification.

THREE ADOPTIONS TODAY! We are so happy! Times have been very hard for shelters and rescue so seeing these babies all get good homes is truly a little ray of sunshine!

Update: ADOPTED 3/25/23

Meet Scrappy, he’s a 3 year old chihuahua. His bottom jaw didn’t grow enough so he has an overbite that just makes him so unique! If you’re interested in adoption Scrappy please contact Lauderdale County Animal Shelter Ripley, Tn to meet him.

He is neutered and vaccinated and ready to go today!

Meet Duke! He will be available for adoption March 24, 2023 from Lauderdale County Animal Shelter Ripley, Tn

He’s a 3 year old terrier mix weighing 30 pounds. Duke loves to play with toys and cuddle in your lap. He previously lived inside but may need refresher house training. His coat will need some brushing but not necessarily a full grooming commitment. He’s the perfect medium sized scruffy dog and would love to be adopt soon!

Watch out every, Scooter is a heart stealer!! He will be available March 24th at Lauderdale County Animal Shelter Ripley, Tn

Scooter is the coolest spaniel mix puppy. Weighing in at 26 pounds at 6 months old we think he will be a medium sized to large dog. He has cocker spaniel like hair minus the grooming needs, since it stays shorter all over his body. He is a sweet puppy that loves to play and get love!

Betsy is assumed to be a rat terrier mix at 10 pounds and 6 months old. She is Ruby’s sister and she loves zoomies and playing just as much. Betsy would love to be adopted soon so she doesn’t have to grow up in a shelter environment!

Ruby is a fun loving puppy at just 6 months old. We think she’s a rat terrier mix weighing 12.5 pounds. She found herself at the shelter but that hasn’t dampened her spirit. She loves to run around the office and play and be loved on like any puppy should. Her and her sister, Betsy, wrestle and play and run around every time they’re out.

Lady is a young German shepherd mix that wants to be loved and taught. She was a stray so we don’t know her exact origins. But we know she’s a good girl! She is looking for a patient home that knows how to help her learn to walk on a leash and come out of her shell. She is vaccinated, heartworm tested, and spayed and available for adoption from Lauderdale County Animal Shelter.

She has lab energy so it would be great for her to be in an active pet home. She needs some work on leash walking but that can be overcome by consistency and her having a family give her attention. She is vaccinated, heartworm tested, and spayed and available for adoption from Lauderdale County Animal Shelter.

Zero is a beautiful golden retriever mix. His family had to let him go due to a move. He’s going to be a big boy as he is only approximately 9/10 months old and fairly large. He is very calm but does have the energy to play with others. He loves to be loved on and has the most gorgeous golden wavy fur that’s super silky and soft. Zero is vaccinated, heartworm tested, and neutered.
