Training Tip: May 18, 2019
When training dogs that appear out of control (whether with aggression or with passionate affection) keep yourself as calm as possible. Making sure that the dog is leashed so that the owner can control the animal I will often lean against a nearby wall or door frame and ignore the dog all together. My body exudes the message that this is boring and I am not there to join in the chaos the dog is creating. When calmness eventually ensues -- wait for it because it will -- I will calmly begin engaging with the dog and setting up ground rules (like we only train when we are calm). Susan Dalton

from .sawyer : Thank you for letting us try a bag of your treats! I’m always on the lookout for the best treats with the least amount of ingredients in them, and these take the cake! With the sole ingredient as the meat that they’re formed from, sawyer goes crazy like you could expect! They’re essentially dried meat chips and she loves them! You may have noticed that Dr. Dalton’s treats are a little more expensive than seemingly similar treats. There are several reasons for this.

1. I use whole muscle meat (instead of scraps and leftover pieces) from USDA approved animals that were raised in the U.S..

2. My treats are made in an USDA approved facility that also makes human jerky so the facility is always clean and up-to-date (I visit the facility on a regular basis so I know this is true).

3. Most other treats contain excess water (listed in the treat analysis as moisture) and which require preservatives to keep them free of mold and mildew. Excess water adds weight and lowers the amount of actual meat in the treat. This makes them cheaper to produce but you end up paying for water instead of meat. Dr. Dalton’s treats contain only 5% moisture and require no preservatives to stay fresh. I began making these treats for my own dogs, and because I love them and I care about their health and happiness.

I was recently contacted by a customer asking about the amount of salt I put in my treats. I would like everyone to know that Dr. Dalton’s Premium Treats are simply 100% meat. I begin with whole muscle meat from which I trim off excess fat and add nothing. Many treats are made with salt as a preservative. In fact, when I began this venture, many in the meat industry told me “you can’t make dog treats without adding salt." Omg pawfriends!!🐾These treats are SOO good! I could not stop eating them!! 🤤❤️Thanks Dr. Dalton's Premium Treats !! They’re 100% muscle meat, have nutrients of raw meat, and 80% protein! What I loved about them so much them is that they snap to any size!!! I only have a couple of teeth left so, that’s why I would highly recommend these treats to senior pups!🤗🐾💗
