Color projects are a labor of 🩶 I didn't intend to keep this guy, as he's not the "complete" package for our shaded group. BUT if I think of where we started and where we are, he tells me to keep trying. Sam isn't massive, nice body type, cute HEC, don't love his front limbs, he's 6 months old so he should fill out more. There's always room for improvement, but I'm pleased and I am enjoying the journey.

I crossed the PW with the smutty sables and tortes that have shaded back grounds.Now I can produce CLEAN sable points with Ruby Cast eyes, Siamise sables and Blue Points from those crosses. I will continue to breed back and forth, breeding back to the nicer typed, and better b***d/massive tortes/smutty sables, trying to improve what was loss when using the finer b***d PW that were used to get those beautiful coats and additional shaded varieties 🥰

This little doe will never be the show rabbit her mom was, but she's definitely inherented her mom's and grand dad's quirky personality 🤣 I also see a little of great grandmother Claire.

We are not the biggest Rabbitry, go to the most, or biggest shows, or breed fancy colors. But, that dosen't mean we aren't good breeders. If your goal is to love your rabbits, enjoy what you do and just keep working on making them better, you can achieve your own kind of success. Some of us work quietly, stay local, and keep our circle of people tight and help each other out of friendship. We are not flashy, you'll never know that the rabbits winning at bigger shows, conventions, and nationally could be rabbits we've given friends, sold, has our lines, or bred by us, but we know and that's our version of success and makes us happy 😊
*over look the molting, and these are a couple of our current favorite juniors 😉 No rabbit is perfect, but we try our best.

We hope everyone had a Happy New Year! Our rabbits decided to have a end of year clearance on fur coats 🙄 why they think they don't need them half way through winter is beyond me, but this is what my New Years party looked like. Just another fabulous day in the irrational, frustrating, exhausting, but never boring life of owning, raising and TRYING to show (a few times a year) Holland Lops. Not a breed for those who want tons of kits, easy keepers, hardy, or LOTS of show rabbits. Don't forget, you've been warned 😆

A honest post about fuzzy Holland Lops. NOT AFL's (not the same breed, not interchangeable). The true wool breeds have been bred to develop coats with proper guard hair that allows the adults to have manageable (and usable fiber) coats with proper care. NO brushing, mostly blowing their coats to remove dirt, using your fingers to "pluck" out tangles, etc. Sometimes we use roller combs. There's NO guarantee a fuzzy HL will develop a correct coat, you have to grow their adult coats out, BUT the statistics are low on that happening. Education on proper coat care, and the reality of a coat that continues to matt, needing cutting/shaving on a small breed with delicate skin IS the responsible thing to do. Beware of breeders passing them off as easy companionship rabbits. They are not, they require extra time, expenses, and work. There's many different opinions on using them, showing them with AFL, etc. If people are truthfull (rarely, especially when trying to move unwanted stock) those instances are not the norm outcomes for a Fuzzy HL.

Christmas miracle ✨️ 6 does due, 5 crashed and burned (DOA or missed) 1st timers, experts, brood and show ladies and the ONLY one to deliver live kits on Christmas night was little 3 & 1/2 # Sia. She's a cute siamise sable, was the last single kit produced by Klicko's Bonnie (Big Sable, our 1st sable point) who was the same breeding as Klicko's Hip-Hop, Alaska, Princess, Oliver, Blue Moon..And she delivered 6 healthy babies (5 normal/1 peanut). She just shamed those other does 😆 Sire is Klicko's Gr Ch Kane ❤️

The tally for babies so far...2 singletons; Sable Point (Desire)& Broken Black (Mercy) in November and 4 so far from December. 1 Black (Cookies and Creme) and 3 blue/black torte (Virginia). This time of year, less is just fine with us.
