We get a lot of questions about what our petting zoo setup looks like — so here’s a little peek before the animals move in! 🐐🐰🐓

We use sturdy 4-foot gray wire panels with 2x4” squares, a 10x20 tent for shade, and a table with hand sanitizer, business cards, and info about what we do.

Our setup is flexible and customizable, so we can arrange it to fit just about any space or shape — from small backyards to large community events. 🎪✨

🌸 Meet Rosie! 🌸 Our sweet miniature Hereford cow made her big debut at today’s petting zoo event — and she did amazing! 🐮💕 Rosie was calm, gentle, and soaked up all the attention like a pro. We’re so proud of her! 💖

🌙🐔 Evenings at the Petting Zoo 🐑✨

When the sun starts to set and the lights come on, the animals start to wind down… well, most of them! 😆 Our chickens take their bedtime routine very seriously — and apparently, the top of our pop-up tent is the best “tree” around!

So while guests are enjoying the evening glow and animal cuddles, you might catch a few feathery friends perched high above, settling in for the night like they own the place. 🐓💤

It’s just part of the charm here — every visit comes with a little bit of farmyard comedy. ❤️

As we honor the achievements of the American labor movement and the contributions of American workers to the nation's economy, I want to share this post from a few years ago. This is a picture of our home.

First responders hold a special place in our hearts, as many of our family members have been in the police force, or have served as EMTs or fire fighters. As a family, we often worry about the physical safety of those that serve. But more close to home we recognize the silent struggles these men and women go through on a daily basis, bearing witness to the world’s most horrific crimes and tragic accidents. Today we celebrate all the brave and selfless men and women who work hard to keep our country blessed and free.

We’re so grateful to have Poor Farm Photography as our official photographer! Their talent for capturing special moments helps us share our story in the most beautiful way. Be sure to check out their work and show them some love!

I'm sure that most of you know that today is the anniversary of an attack on America that cost the lives of many first responders. Trying to decide what to post, I thought of this one.

I was taking pictures of my niece's place and as I was walking the creek, I looked over and saw this beautiful shot through the leaves. The Texas flag and the Blue Line flag proudly displayed.

My niece married a wonderful man that just happens to be a policeman and he has been one for many years. Well, I have been a firefighter for many years. This leads to a wonderful rivalry between he and I. Whenever we get near each other, the firefighter/policeman jokes start flying. It is great fun but each time I see him, I tell him to stay safe and I secretly worry about him, my Brother in Blue. I worry about all first responders, both their physical and mental well-being.

The physical dangers are well known, but first responders oftentimes carry secrets that others are not aware. PTSD is very common among first responders. Su***de is now killing more firefighters, EMTs and police officers than Line of Duty deaths!

As you remember 9/11, please remember all of the first responders that gave the ultimate sacrifice that day. Please remember to pray for their families. Please also remember to pray for all first responders, retired and active. Times are tough on these guys and gals!

Our sweet Scottish Highland cow Dolores will be out of pocket for the next month or so — she’s off on a little romantic getaway! 💕🐂
