After being let down more than once, Lilah has officially been in foster care with me for over 2 years now. Obviously I refuse to put her back on the street or even give her to a shelter, and so the hunt for her forever home continues! 💪 She's fully prepared to travel to the UK or Europe.

Lilah is 2 years old, very emotionally intelligent, friendly with children, cuddly, VERY affectionate, loyal, and obedient. She needs a devoted, patient, and responsible owner who will cuddle her every day and take care of her no matter what, as Lilah can be protective and nervous around other/strange dogs. She has multiple traumas from cats and street dogs, so it's better if she's prioritised as an 'only dog', or second in command to a pack with a 'friendly alpha' dog.

Hey everyone, this cute girl was found on the beach this morning with a couple of bedouin kids who weren't being very nice. She's 2-3 months old. Very quiet and easily afraid, but playful, sweet and and cuddly around children - great with cats and kittens too. She's very healthy. No ticks. Eats and drinks well. She's looking for someone to take care of her/keep an eye on her, at least until she's old enough to stand up for herself on the beach! Do you have a place for her? Or know a camp/large hotel space that will take her in and let her live both loved and free? Please DM 💛

💗 MEET LILAH - TRAINED, VACCINATED, ADORABLE - GERMAN SHEPHERD MIX SEEKING ADOPTION 💗

Lilah is a very happy, energetic sweetheart looking for someone who can handle a curious, hyper, adventurous dog with aggressive tendencies. She is incredibly affectionate, cuddly and loving towards humans in the home, but can be cautious and reactive around new dogs.

Medical History:
-Neutered
-Vaccinated (rabies and parvo)
-Passport/Certificate
-Microchipped
-Prone to hiccups and bloating

Training History:
-Housetrained (within reason).
-Leash-trained AND walks closely off-leash with excellent recall (95%).
-Crate-trained and very comfortable being tied up on a leash (for necessary periods only).
-Knows commands: Sit, paw/shake, lie down.
-Experienced living with other dogs.
-Fine being left on her own.

Personality:
-Energetic, happy, playful, hyper, sweetheart!
-Very loving, friendly and affectionate towards humans and dogs she feels safe with.
-Super cute, submissive and obedient to her owner.
-Very loyal, intelligent and emotionally aware.

Temper:
-Aggressive tendencies EG: growling and barking at other dogs.
-Reactive towards other dogs and can attack without warning.
-Needs a patient owner who is happy to train her, willing to give her the attention she needs, and doesn’t see her traumas as a ‘problem’ or ‘too much to handle.’

These special rescue dogs remind me that things don’t always go the way we expect them to. But even when it seems like things are going wrong, life has something even more wonderful waiting around the corner...

This was Dusty’s story. 💗

EDIT: For anyone saying ‘You should have done a better character assessment’, here’s my response:

I wrote this caption because I was talking to the original woman for 3 months, invited her to come and pick up Dusty personally, trained them together in Dahab for a week to get to know each other, and accompanied them to the airport where everything went swimmingly. Unfortunately, there was a personal issue within the family which stopped them from wanting/having the energy for a dog when it was already too late.

The point is we can't predict everything or protect the rescues from 'life happening'. Sometimes we have to trust that we've done our best. I am very proud of my work and my decisions and there's nothing I could have done differently - trust me, I've thought about it a lot. I raised Dusty for 10 months the best I could, got her safely out of the country, and am involved in her care even now to ensure that she is understood and cared for in the right way.

Here’s lucky Orla living her lovely new life in Munich with Daniela and Lady the Baladi 😍❄️❤️ The love and gratitude for saving a dog’s life is never-ending ❤️

*Latest update on the twins!*

Dusty and Orla's blood was successfully delivered AND tested in the German lab and I am delighted to announce that, after failing the first time around, Orla tested POSITIVE for rabies ANTIBODIES!!! Me and Orla's mum, Daniela are VERY happy, as now Orla is on track to move to Germany in October!! 😍 WOOP!

HOWEVER I need to pay €50eur to receive Dusty's results... she still doesn't have a family 😔 So we need YOUR help!

I’m finally back in Dahab after a few weeks away visiting family, and I am so grateful to find that my beautiful pack is safe and sound 💚 I want to say a huge thank you to the team of people who volunteered to take care of Shamsy's Little Wolves whilst I was away! But mostly I want to say a humongous THANK YOU to Carmen and Juan for taking care of the house and the dogs the whole time 🐾 🙏❤️

Carmen dedicated her entire life to the girls whilst I was away, and it’s not common to find someone who has the heart or the resilience to do that. Taking care of a pack of dogs 24/7 in 40-50 degree heat is tough: The barking, the fighting, the cooling, the cleaning, the mess. And with the recent dog poisonings and deaths in Dahab, it was even more stressful and easy for everyone to be paranoid about their well-being. But Carmen and Juan made it through everything and stuck by the girls through it all. We are beyond grateful 🌞🐶🐺

Now it’s time to get back to work and find these girls a home! 💪💚 Paws and love!!!

Hello beautiful souls, I need your help. This is Dusty. For the last 6 months, I’ve given her everything she needs. But now she needs a family. She needs a real mother or a father, someone who can walk her and cuddle her every day and give her the beautiful life she deserves. She cannot go back on the street.

She is fully vaccinated with a passport, deworming and working tick medicine. If you will stay in Dahab/Egypt, I can assist with the neutering process. Or if you want to take her abroad, then she will be ready to travel in October. I can keep her until then if necessary.

If you have children or another dog, she will LOVE them, and they will love her. She is the easiest, sweetest, friendliest, most soft-natured dog I ever had the honour of taking care of.

Please help me find her a loving forever home.

Fellow Dahabians! Just a reminder that Shamsy's is not a shelter, not a rescue centre, nor a hotel. These are not my responsibilities. I have chosen to dedicate my life here to creating a home for dogs temporarily where they are given medical and practical care before adoption (they are not domesticated by me) if they are in need or cannot fend for themselves on the street, OR if they already have owners and need 'dog-sitting'.

(However, I also adopted Rey 2 years ago who is prepared to travel and will stay with me forever!!!)
