How much fur can you pull out of a Chihuahua? Well it’s a lot. Deshedding season is in full swing and the best way to keep your doggies in top condition is with a deshedding treatment. Our favourite shampoo is Blown Away by . In fact we use it on every double coated dog we have in because it’s that good. All this fur came out of that tiny little dog.

And don’t forget your short haired dogs like the Labrador or the Pug. They need just as much maintenance as their longer haired counterparts. Book your dog in now to see how much hair we can get out of them this season.

Officially entering the Spooky season with this delicious boy Rex

It’s been a hot minute since we were last posting on here so thought we could share a little known fact about Australian Shepherds with you. They’re these adorable teddy bear like dogs that you want to snuggle into and go on Autumn hikes with and sip pumpkin lattes together while you rewatch under a cosy cashmere blanket. Because Rex would understand your sudden Adam Brody fixation. They’re not judgy, Australian Shepherds.

Benji came to us for the first time recently. Unfortunately he was taken down too short in his body previously and has some coat funk - he’s a or a (a crossed with a ) and while his head may be silky, his body has a double coat which shouldn’t be clipped short. Coat funk is an irreversible change in the texture of the fur.

We did the best we could this time round and will continue to scissor him in and hopefully have more hair to blend, blend, blend next time.

He’ll be coming back weekly for a nail trim too to get his quick to recede so they are the correct length. Regular nail maintenance is imperative to stave off complications like arthritis in the feet and toes of our furry friends. However taking too much off the nail at once is counterproductive since the quick isn’t shortened but will bleed.

My favourite part of any groom is when a dog starts to fall asleep - especially when you’re sc******ng in the face - you’ve earned their trust. Happy Sunday Cooper …..you are a dream to groom.
