Remembering all the horses who are no longer with us 🌈 Rooster, Della, Frilly and Caretta are pictured here. We are honoured to have given them their retirement and we often think about all the horses we’ve had the privilege of caring for in their twilight years. We miss you all ❤️

This is the saddest news 😢 Our thoughts are with Rebecca’s family and all her friends and clients who loved her, such a kind, supportive and talented lady. She was one of a kind and will be terribly missed. 💔

It is with the greatest sadness that we have to tell you that Rebecca Hamilton-Fletcher died very suddenly last Thursday 29th May.

The following is a message from Rebecca’s family.

It’s been an immense shock to us and we find it almost impossible to believe she is no longer with us. She was so dynamic, energetic and engaged. As we are sure you know, she loved her work with a lifelong passion. From childhood she dreamed of looking after horses, especially their care and welfare, which she achieved as a practising veterinary surgeon for 43 years.
To the end she lived the life of her dreams within the beautiful New Forest, surrounded by her family and beloved animals.

Rebecca died suddenly at home, and an autopsy will take place to confirm the exact cause. While the outcome is unknown at this stage, we expect that the autopsy will conclude that her death happened due to natural causes.

Within 48 hours Jan was in Canada to break the tragic news to their daughter, Bethany. They are now on their way home. They are of course devastated and understandably will need some time to come to terms with this tragedy before they are ready to engage again with the outside world.

They will, however, be in touch later with information about how Rebecca’s life will be celebrated with the community she was part of and loved.
