Dog Days at Discovery is a FREE family event for the pet lovers of Trace Crossings, Greater Hoover, and beyond. It is an opportunity to meet your pet-loving neighbors and have fun showing off your furry family members. Well-behaved dogs (and children) are welcome; dogs must be on-leash. There will be live music, food trucks, activities for children and dogs, and pet adoptions. Vendors will include

all manner of pet-related businesses from rescues, groomers, and pet sitters to pet photographers and carpet cleaners – everything we need to learn about taking the best possible care of our pets. In addition, for those who are interested, there will be a Blessing of the Pets ceremony in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology, who expressed his devotion to God through his love for all of God’s creation. He cared for the poor and sick, he preached sermons to animals, and praised all creatures as brothers and sisters under God.

Thank You Discovery UMC for having us out today!!!! We had a great time, made some fantastic connections, and we think we even found one of our pooches his forever home!

You guys did a terrific job of recruiting vendors, designing the layout, coming up with a variety of activities, promoting the event, and making all of us feel welcome!

Southern Paws Animal Rescue and Ginger’s Pup Treats look forward to coming again next year!

Beautiful day for Dog Days at Discovery at Discovery UMC (corner of Brocks Gap and Stadium Trace Parkway, just up from the Hoover Met and Sportsplex). Free parking! Along with the scheduled events there will be crafts and activities (for humans and their furry friends), vendors to visit for shopping and information on pet products and services, food trucks, music, and pet costume contest.
