So John Harris’s homegrown (and Rawley Anderson’s favorite lol) doe, Black Widow, had 4 babies sometime between 10:30pm-1:30am….He woke me at 1:30am to let me know she’d had babies and they were in the nestbox and were still warm when he found them but she had not pulled any fur to cover them and he was asking where the extra wool stash was since we had shaved down the two angoras a while back and had saved a bag of wool. I told him where the bag was and fell back to sleep. He obviously did what needed to be done bc when I got up this morning at 9am and went to check on them…they were deep in a nest with wool all around them! Thank goodness John Harris was up and paying attention and checking on all the mommas with nestboxes before he went to bed!! Bc if he hadn’t found them…it likely would have been a sad and very different outcome this morning.

Decided to give the New Years Buckle Bash Progress Show a try this weekend! What a fun show with great prizes! Almost 300 rabbits and our little homegrown, JoBre’s Cutie, won Grand Champion Breed Rabbit and overall Grand Champion (Best in Show). John Harris won two belt buckles, a banner, rosettes and lots of goodies! Thanks to the group who put on the show and judge, Jerrett Cobb!

The day has arrived and we are off to our very first ARBA Show and Convention in Louisville, KY. We’ve had some hiccups with rabbits deciding now would be a great time to molt 😩 and bad rental car service….but all of us (minus Owen) are on the road and making our way to Louisville!!
