Someone got himself a pedicure today and he was such a good boy for all the things! He wasn’t phased by any of the tools and didn’t have any problem letting Olivia hold his legs in all the various positions! He’s one smart cookie! 💙

(Please excuse what a muddy mess he is - you know how those Mudstangs can be. 🤣)

Another big day for Orion! 💙
He graduated from the small pasture and got to move out into one of the larger pastures on our farm. He’s now hanging out with our Mustang gelding, Winston, but before we let the two hang out together, I put Orion in the pasture alone to let him explore the perimeter and stretch his legs. You can see he was excited to do both! This boy is SUCH a beautiful mover and so nicely balanced.

After he was done playing around, he decided to share some of his water with me. 🤣 Such a thoughtful fella! And then, of course, he hung out with his BFF Oreo (our neighbor’s cat that he absolutely adores and we think she feels the same way about him 😻).

Just adding some photos to adorable Indy’s album! He’s such a joy and I’m so grateful I get to continue to be a part of his life and journey. Thank you, Dawn, for giving him so much love, a great education and ongoing encouragement as he grows into a big boy! 💙

We had an exciting day at the farm today!
Susan brought Gilly over and Dawn brought Indy over - and we all hit the trail with Winston (our own personal Mustang) joining the group!

All the Wyoming mustangs did so well!
Gilly (4 yo from Salt Wells Creek) is a trail beast and a definitely a born leader! Winston (6 yo from Green Mountain) was his usual, happy-go-lucky trail confident self. And Indy (3 yo from Divide Basin) did fantastic being ponied on his first offsite trail. 😍🐴

So proud of Gilly and Indy and so lucky I still get to be a part of their lives. I’m also so grateful to their owners/adopters for all the time and love they put into them.

Look who graduated from the round pen - and was very excited about it. 😍 Orion has been doing so well and has now upgraded to greener pastures. So proud of this big, sweetheart of a horse.

What’s Orion been up to lately?
The answer is - what hasn’t he been up to!?
This big, baby boy is so SMART and SWEET and has been learning all the domestic life things a horse needs to know and mastering each one with quickness and ease!

He can halter and lead so nicely (not just for me, but for anyone I send into the round pen and ask to halter/lead him - even some of my lesson students!), he can be groomed (he loves it so much), he can be fly sprayed (he’s more interested in playing with the bottle than concerned about what you’re spraying on his body), he can pick up his feet on request (almost time for a trim!), he can wear a saddle pad and a ba****ck pad, he can free lunge and join up like a champion, he loves following me around at liberty and picks up on liberty cues quickly.

He’ll be moving out into the small pasture soon for more room to roam and next we will work on standing tied, being introduced to the saddle and trailer loading.

He’s such a joy to play with and always one of the highlights of my day. 💙

I also just measured him today and he’s already 15.3 hands! He’s going to mature into one tall fella! Enjoy his video and photos of him being the cutest boy he can be.

Orion had a big day! My friend Dawn came over with her quarter horse and helped me teach Orion how to be ponied! Once he figured out the assignment, he did super well. Especially for his first time. 💙🐴 Also! Look how big this boy is! (For size comparison, my friend’s horse is 15.3)

Orion says - Halter Free is the way to be!

💙 Name Announcement! 💙
The “new guy” officially has a name - Orion!
In Greek Mythology, Orion was a giant hunter. He was also eventually placed among the stars by Zeus. Since this boy is BIG, curious, playful and bright we thought this name was pretty fitting. He was probably a “hunter” for food/grass/water on the range (with his herd mates) and maybe one day he’ll have a future as a “hunt” partner, soaring over jumps (with those long legs) with his forever person. 🐎

Thank you to Olivia and Carley for coming out to ride the Mustangs with me and Arya, today! It was such a fun morning and I think all the horses were happy to get out and stretch their legs. 💙🐴💜
