FINALLY!!!! I FINALLY perfected RICOTTA!!!!! Its so good and creamy and the flavor is great!!! The best thing......its 100% milk! No crap, no gums of any kind and nothing bad for you!!! Just good o'l fresh cows milk!!! I made stuffed manicotti last night and it's so dang good!!!! For this of you in Gillette its available at the Urban Basket on downtown Gillette ave. If you're in Sheridan i can bring some tomorrow to town!

Maple is finally getting it!! No chasing her this morning! She walked right in the barn so i could put her halter on and stood there the whole time i milked Mavis! She even stood still for the fly spray today!

Doesn't Mavis look great in pink??? Maple is getting some milk cow in training today. Both girls were AI'd last week so hopefully we will be expecting 2 calves in 9 months!!!

OMG..... what a long long day.... its been a trial that's for sure! I got home last night and as i got even with the alley my van made a horrible noise and came to a screeching halt!! I thought i ran over something so i back up and it wouldn't back up, then it wouldn't go forward... i didn't run over anything!!! I think it's the rear differential. Anyway i idled it around the corner and up the driveway. Called a tow truck today to come get....$300 and some sausage!!! He was there in an hour!!
Then one of the sows had her babies while in with the other pigs(she was way closer then we thought) so unfortunately 1/2 of them got laid on. Then i had to play chicken with an angry momma pig!!! LOL..... I hold one of her babies and make it squeal so she would follow me into the barn with the survivors where we had a bunch of strawand all the babies waiting for her. So all that made us late late this morning!! Poor Mavis didn't very miles until 1030!!!
Then we had to haul the horse trailer in to the trailer place... no lights, breaks don't seem to be working right.... figured while we are there and going to be repair poor anyway i may as well get a new hitch..... the old one is so hard!!!!! I can barely turn it some times too hook it up.... I'm spending the extra $280 for an electric one!!! Its a push button with a light!! I might actually be able to see it in the dark now.
So we hitched up the trailer finally, drove into Buffalo(50 miles) picked up the pork and drove to Gillette (75 miles) to take it to the Urban Basket, then to the feed store, out to a guys house to grab a bale of hay for Mavis, then Walmart,gas and home!!! Now I'm at the canning trailer coming the cinnamon pickles because they have been in the bucket more then long enough. Good lord almighty am i tired!!! I hope i get out of here by 11!!
Also that damn peacock is still here!!!!

Well.... day 5 still no water at the house. At least the frost free hydrant next to the well house is now back on line. We used a propane heater under the canning trailer to thaw out the back bathroom(only thing that froze there) so we can take showers there at least.
I mean SERIOUSLY who the hell would expect 3 heaters to take a crap in a 24hr period!!!!! UGHHHHHH

Made it home safe and sound!!! Got Mavis fed, calf locked up,restaurant supply stuff unloaded now headed home to take care of the dogs and hit the elliptical since i can't go to the gym with KayLee Stidham and my other gym buddies i came to know and love in the 2 wks i was there!!!

I've made it to CO. Some how my luggage made it to Denver hours before i did.... i was at the baggage claim almost an hour before they figured out where my bags were!!!
