Un-fur-tunately, some Victorians have been a little TOO keen to help our young wildlife this spring, taking animals home and attempting to care for them in their houses and backyards.

Whether it’s a baby bird that fell from its nest or a kangaroo joey that hopped out of mum’s pouch, all injured or abandoned wildlife needs proper care to survive and thrive!

So, if you find a native animal that needs help, please:

🐦 Don’t take it home – it’s illegal to take and keep animals from the wild.

🦘 Find a vet or wildlife carer by calling 136 186 or visiting www.wildlife.vic.gov.au/hfiw

Help us protect native species and keep wildlife wild!

If you know or suspect someone is illegally keeping wildlife, you can make an anonymous report to Crime Stoppers Victoria on 1800 333 000.

These handsome not so little boys are looking for a new home👀🐰
Weighing in at 5.6kg and 4.7kg.

With gorgeous personalities these boys would make a great addition to any family.
Selling together (desexing recommended) or separately both these boys will need a little love and patience to bring them out of their shell as they settle in.

Litter training is being refined in store for in house living where they will best thrive.
As someone that owns a Flemish themselves there is nothing better than having big ears hop around as equivalently to living with a dog or cat.

Why Albie (the bird)?
In 2020 I (the owner) purchased Albie from Animal World of Boronia in which I was prompted an opportunity to be an employee. Within that year and working closely with the previous owner I was offered Animal World. As Albie has accompanied me to work for the last few years he’s become recognized from something from the store to being apart of the store and as the store grows it’s a delight to now see him inside and outside.

The ongoing support that Animal World has received over the last 54 years has been noticed and appreciated and will continue to be so.

Make sure to check it out the next time you visit with some changes being the first in 20 years!

Just like humans some birds are brighter with than others which has been determined by a series of tests including a range of problem solving comparative intelligence, understanding time, memory, social intelligence, visual abilities, long term memory, rapid learning and tempo sensitivity.
