“What should you know about Persian cats?”

If you can’t learn to groom them yourself… you MUST have an on going budget for Grooming!!! Just like a dog they “MUST” be groomed on a REGULAR/weekly/monthly/bi-monthly basis… and oh yeah, they’re going to blow their coats or molt in the spring and fall!!!
Cat groomers are a few and far between. Before you get your Persian, make sure to find a cat groomer… This is a learning experience, in itself! Most dog groomers do not do cats. Cat groomers typically cost MORE than a dog groomer because their skills are specialized towards cats only. Cat groomers are completely different from dog groomers. Don’t be fooled.
Also remember that vet visits usually start between $100-200 once or twice a year. It’s not a money grab. You’re paying for their knowledge that we didn’t go to school for. You will actually save yourself money if you get pet insurance. That visits can be included in a one time fee per year.
This is coming from a Cats only Groomer of 28 years.
They’re kitten like their whole life.
You can typically bring in any other cat/cats or put them with another Persian and they’ll get along just fine.
Very low stress Cats.
They’re like potato chips you can’t have just one 😅
