Getting ready for some babies!

What do you think is your herd changing rabbit?
We’ve been discussing this and here’s our picks-
Grandma Rabbit- BH Carrie Ann. She had an amazing litter that changed the quality of rabbits we produced. 3 of her offspring are currently brood stock and all have produced breed/BIS winning animals. Her buck BH Ralph was Chases first national winner (BOSB mini rex Nationals 2024), BH Ruby won the day after show and multiple BOB/BIS and is an amazing mom who has repeatedly produced winning offspring, and BH Randall didn’t show but has produced multiple BOB rabbits also.
Chase- BH Ruby or BH Boughton. BH Ruby has repeatedly produced winning offspring. BH Boughton is the mom of BH Lux (ARBA breed winner 2024) and has produced several amazing animals. She had 2 top 10 senior black does at the 2024 ARBA convention.
Grandpa Rabbit- The litter of BH Ruby, BH Ralph and BH Randall. They have all went on to produce high quality litters.

It’s hard to forget your first homegrown Best of Breed rabbit!
BH Bagnell was a sweet little doe out of the second litter born in the rabbitry. She got her BOB in November 2022.
Did she meet the standards of today’s rabbits? No, but at that time she was amazing and Chase was super proud.

This weekend was the Picnic Show in Sedalia.
Grandma Rabbit was off coaching at Track & Field Districts, but her himi buck BH Jordan had a good weekend, winning his first BISS at the Specialty Show Friday night, and opposite breed Saturday.
The fellas didn’t write down class placings in the shows, but Chase’s otter doe BH Molly had BOG Show A and Show B was BH Prissy. His broken buck BH Sugar Bear was BOSG one of the shows. His junior does were too young to compete but got good comments!

The guys had a good trip to Fort Worth for Mini Rex Nationals.
Chase’s first nationals in open went well with 3 of the 5 placing in the top 10 and BH Jordan getting BOSG AOV!
With the weather coming in, they left as soon as they could and got home at 2am.
Congrats to all our friends on their wins!

Chase was on the other side of the table today judging at the St. Charles County 4-H Youth Rabbit Fun Show. He enjoyed judging with Jaclyn and was impressed with the 4-H kids rabbits.

Today was the Midwest Trailblazers Rabbit Club show. Chase and his small mini rex show team had a good day! BH Miss Priss came home with a Reserve in Show.
Several rabbits stayed home today and will not leave the barn until Mini Rex Nationals in a few weeks, but Chase was happy with the results on the ones he took to show.
It’s been a while since we’ve been to a show and enjoyed seeing many of our friends.

BH Fancy Nancy’s working hard! She was an amazing asset to last seasons fall show team and we can’t wait to see what she produces with BH Greg!

Excited to tattoo a rex tonight! It’s been a while!
This guy’s out of BH Diva, but due to complications, was raised by a mini rex, BH Rita.
We currently have 4 rex growing out and hope to have more on the fall show team 🤍
