Axanthic Axolotl? What’s that you may ask..

These remarkable creatures are a rare and unique colour variation of the beloved Axolotl. What makes them so special is the absence of xanthophores—the cells responsible for yellow and red pigmentation. This gives them a stunning grayscale appearance in shades of black, grey, and white, making them look like they’ve come straight out of a black-and-white photograph.

While they may lack the bright colours of other axolotls, their striking monochrome look is equally captivating. Axanthic Axolotls still boast all the endearing traits we love—feathery gills, playful expressions, and their ability to steal hearts wherever they go. They’re a true wonder of nature.

These Axanthic beauties are incredibly rare in the UK, which makes it all the more exciting that we have produced them 🤩

I have limited numbers- only 5 left for rehoming once ready to leave at the start of march!
