Mack went for his first decompression walk yesterday! We sure love seeing that nose glued to the ground. Sniffing + freedom of movement in nature = one happy dog.

CUTE ALERT 🚨Baby Moose is learning to play the go-find-it game when he’s on a leash instead of biting his parents! Puppies have razor teeth as it is, but it’s even worse when they’re adult dog-sized at 3.5 months old. As an added bonus, we also get to build good leash skills and reward automatic engagement with this fun pattern game - helpful when your dog is going to be close to 200 lbs.
To play with your own dog, drop a treat in front of them and say “go find it.” After they eat it, wait for them to look back at you, then repeat. Soon, you’ll be able to start tossing the treats a few feet ahead or waiting a tiny bit longer between each toss. Thanks for demonstrating, Team Moose!

Don’t have 1.5 hours during the week to take your dog on a decompression walk? That’s okay - we do! You can now upgrade any day training session to a decompression walk. We’ll take them to a nearby quiet park, let them wander, sniff, and just be a dog. If you haven’t tried a decompression walk before, they are a GAME CHANGER for your enrichment routine. Especially if your dog has trouble with neighborhood walks.
Not already in our day training program? Reach out today to get started!

Alex had the one of the most fun lessons ever with Team Benny this week! They’ve been spending a few minutes of free time each day working on tricks - look at what he’s nailed down already: a “middle,” “touch,” “play dead,” “right paw,” “left paw,” “spin,” and “rollover!” 😱🎉💯This time we did some troubleshooting with his “back up,” “bow,” and “go around (a humans legs)” and we can’t wait to see what he learns next. 👏👏👏
Tricks are a GREAT way to bond with your dog, get some energy out, keep their brain sharp, and to have fun. We even have a tricks-only class coming up in the new year - email us today to join the waitlist!

Remember that training should meet you and your dog’s needs, not the expectations of others. The only rule for walks is that both you and your dog enjoy them!
