Something a little unusual this morning... shall we say "a CAT of a different color"? 🤣
I participated in Bonny Snowden's live tutorial class this morning on realism, using non-realistic colors. It was very fun to get a pencil in my hand again, and I may come back and finish this little gal later, but now it's back to the paintbrush 🥰🐾

I got inspired after that watercolor class and decided to try something a little different. Continuous line pen-and-ink sketches with a flood of watercolor made a fun balance between abstract and realism… loose but still capturing the personality in those puppy dog eyes! 🐾

I’m pretty sure Tilly bleeds green after her two visits to MSU College of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Medical Center, so we love this play on the Pantone colors. Of course our favorite is Best Friend Bronze! 🐾💚

Look at this handsome trio of Aussie gentlemen (Mini Aussie in the middle)🐾

I struggled quite a bit with Morty. I painted and repainted, but just didn’t like how it was coming out, until I picked up a paintbrush I don’t think I’d ever used before… and voila, I discovered the perfect tool for achieving his long shaggy Merle coat!

This is something I started doing on the back of some of my canvas paintings. Inspired by the selvage edge of quilting fabric, it showcases all of the various colors of paint that went into the finished portrait. ♥️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🤍🩶🖤
