My oldest dog is Sparky. I bought him from my neighbors back in 2011 when he was 6 months old. He is neutered. He is a full blood red-nosed American Pit Bull Terrier. He can be aggressive to other dogs and to some people. He's always been a couch potato, not very active at all. He's very low energy, he's a great watch dog and protector. Shortly after the poison was sprayed into our yard on Easter Sunday last year, he has had this terrible rash. I think he may have ingested the poison by licking his feet. He's very clean, hates the rain and mud. I call him Mr. Clean. He stays in the kitchen with Rosa and Barbara. When Cowdog died, he was so broken hearted that he stopped taking care of himself like he used to. Rosa and Barbara are always grooming him and cleaning his teeth. He is behind on his shots. But they have been giving free shots and altering in this area so if I get transportation I might be able to get him his rabies shot. His condition is in a decline. He has been losing weight and the rash is just awful. I have been treating it for a year with everything I've got and I can't get rid of it. Part of the problem is fleas and the other part is the herbicide poison. He would be a very good dog for anyone who has had a pit bull in the past and knows how to handle them. He has had more socialization than the other dogs. I've included an older photo of him when he was healthy. The rash is just awful. His skin looks like it is full of tumors. We have had problems with the fleas. I used to use a generic brand of Advantix II and that chemical has become ineffective against the fleas now. I have been giving them flea baths and medications but I just haven't been able to get rid of that horrible rash. Since the dogs have had the fleas, they also have tapeworms. I can get tapeworm medicine for a small fraction of what most vets charge but I haven 't been able to do that lately. Sparky has allergies to chicken and corn. I tried him on several brands of food and the best I found for him is Rachel Ray Nutrish Beef flavor. That's what he likes the most and he does the best on. I've had him for 9 years now and it is totally breaking my heart to have to give him up. He is a good dog. I've have been so blessed to have him. It's going to break his heart to be separated from his girls. So sad.

“Snoopy is one of the dogs I rescued in 2015 when I got laid off over Christmas. He was adopted by a family but was returned after Christmas. He is half Parson Jack Russell Terrier and pit bull. I call him my "man dog" because he is the most "human" of my dogs. He is the only one that will lay on the couch. The others won't get on the furniture at all. They have their own beds on the floor. Snoopy is genius smart; he learns commands almost instantly. I've spent some time training him on the basic commands because I've always wanted to place him. I think he would be much happier if he had his own human that he didn't have to share with other dogs. He would make a great service/watch dog. He was raised in the bathroom with all of the other rescued puppies.
They started out in the bathtub because they were very young and then took over the bathroom. So he has been my colitis therapy dog. When I am having a hard time he will stand in front of me and let me hug him and lean on him. He is very noble when he helps me like that. He knows I am in a lot of pain. It's part of what makes him so human. He is very dog aggressive to both males and females and jealousy over me seems to be the issue. He is not altered yet but needs to be. He is very playful; he loves his toys and likes to throw them around and play. He loves to play in the hose on a hot day. He is more quiet than the other dogs. He doesn't bark at people when they walk by. Snoopy was not at all affected by the poison. He's not a grazer. As you can see, he has a very unique appearance. I call him my "curly mohawk boy" because he actually has a curly mohawk. The last time I took him in to pet check for his shot, the vet tech took photos of him. They had never seen a dog that looks like Snoopy before. He's got the shape of a Jack Russell in the size of a Pit Bull. His body is very thin but all of his weight is in his legs. And his nose, what can I say? Have you ever seen a nose like that? He weighs about 60 pounds and is knee high. At times, he can be very hard headed. He won't let me put flea spots on him anymore. But that's okay because they don't work anymore. He's been a little hard headed about baths too but he did let me bathe him a couple of weeks ago. We have had problems with the fleas and tapeworms. Losing him is going to break both of our hearts. He's been there for me at my very worst times. I hope we can find him a very good home. He deserves a good home.”

“Belle is the last of the dogs I need to rehome. A nice family had bought her from a flea market. She was supposed to be a full blood black lab but she turned out to be half greyhound. After they bought her their landlord said she had to go so she came her to be rehomed. On Christmas day she came down with a bad strain of leptospirosis and was deathly ill. Then all of the other dogs got it one by one. They were all quarantined for about three months. And during that time, Belle fell in love with Jack and moved in with him. She had been staying in the bathroom with Snoopy and Roscoe and Snoopy was very broken hearted when she left. Jack and Belle have been a couple ever since. They occupy the largest bedroom in the house. I call it the honeymoon suite. Belle is spayed, weighs about 60 pounds and is a tall dog. She has a long nose, long body, long tail and long legs. She is a real live wire. She gets all of the other dogs running and playing. She loves to play in the hose. When she sees the water coming out, she goes ballistic. She loves the water. She is very sociable with other dogs and I call her Ms. Congeneality sometimes. But she is somewhat of an alpha and can be a little aggressive towards some alpha females. But most of the time she is very sweet natured and loving. She loves to be hugged. One time she got loose when it was freezing cold and pouring rain and all of the other dogs in the neighborhood were suffering out in the cold. Not Belle. She was out there running up and down the street having the time of her life. After that I just called her Ding a Ling Dog. She actually comes better to Ding a Ling than she does to Belle. My friend Jody called her Ding D**g Belle. For a long time I had a real problem with her digging out from under the fence and getting loose. I don't let her out unsupervised anymore and that solved it. Belle is not high strung in the house, but outside she requires enough space to have a good run. She has been unaffected by the poison but has had fleas like the others. She is more friendly to people and other pets than my other dogs. She's not all that smart, but what she lacks in brains, she more than makes up with heart. She does have a really bad habit of eating p**p. I have to watch her like a hawk and pick up their p**p as soon as they do it. She will make a really good family dog. She is very tender and loving. I hate the thought of separating her and Jack but there is friction between Belle and Rosa. I don't want to bring a bunch of fighting dogs up to NY. I am totally broken hearted to see Belle go.”
